can't wait for my kite

I'm new to the powerkite scene and would love to buggy someday. Right now I'm just impatiently waiting for the Beamer III 3m I ordered last week. :-) Any flying tips, hints, or suggestions would be MUCH appreciated.

Try not to fly your first few times in more than 10 mph and hope for a relatively smooth wind. Hook up all your lines inside away from the wind before you try to fly. Take a helper if you can, and don't try to rush your first flight or two. Allow a couple hours your first few flights if possible. When you wind your lines on your handles the first time, remember where you hold the handles and how you wind the lines because you will need to do the exact opposite for tangle/twist free setup the next time.

Thanks for the advice! This will actually be my second powerkite. The first one was a piece of crap no name kite that I got off ebay. I had to take the brake lines off to get the thing in the air afterwhich a powerline broke! That was all before I found this forum! I'm expecting much better results with the Beamer.

The beamer will be better and for packing up use the parapacking on racekites.com how to section. Parapacking looks like you will end up in tangle but it works great and is quick.

Will do! If my kite will ever get here I'll try the parapack way. Its gotta be better than winding all those lines!

try to hold on tight and first of all move it left then right but dont do any tricks till you get a good hold of it and have some experience in this kite. I'd say for beginners use flexifoil bigbuzz.

Be ready to get a huge pull toward the kite when it takes off. Step toward the kite.
Don't try and FLY the kite right off. Try and keep it calm and overhead. ( in appropriate wind ) Once you get that down start moving left and right under control. Feel how the edge of the window is also on your left and right. Try and AVOID the power zone all together for the 1st while. Only start flying in to the power zone after you feel in total control doing small figure 8s up top.

Beginers usually, apply the brakes at the wrong time + without thinking about it. Only use the brakes for backing down + reverse launching until you get used to flying on the front lines only.Point the bottom of the handles toward the kite always at 1st.

Timing is key. Start a turn before it is too late. You sort of have to stay 1 step ahead of what is going on.

Have fun!:bigok:
