check here, and ill be on the search for ya.

http://www.buggywheels.com/

probably the Midi (as know as Extra Wide Tire) will work for you on STD Rims.
not much fits the AS Rims than the Beach Racer, Duro, another there was a few others i cant remember. Must talk with the Euros.

Krohn1999 / Ozzy / Ruudje is always in the know too.

i went to the kenda web site to see some tires but could not find " kite buggy" specific tires. i know kenda makes tires for us because i have some and those beach racers Rip is talking about have a big Kenda logo on them. i know PTW used Kenda Scorpions, which look liked grooved midis.
Rip,
maybe getting grooves cut on my current balloons might be the way to go. do most any tire shop cut grooves and how do they know they won't cut too deep? ;)

i seen cadkat's web site. those grooved smoothies are $$$. they claim they're good for 80 kp/h. too heavy on the old wallet though;)
Jon,
i'd like to track down some pics of those tires. Nanco and Duro have website?

Nankang N800's

These guys have them, but I bought some at Les Schwab for close to the same price... (not ribbed though)
Nankang N800's

I've seen the Duro's and went to look for you and now I can't find any... Hmmmmm...

Good luck in your hunt...

Ahhhh... I found some Duro's but they're not slicks but ribbed...

and here is where I found them...
Duro's ribbed
I think these are a lil smaller around than the Nankang N800's and I think they are the ones used by buggiers... They are two thirds the way down the page called "HF217 Ribbed Turf Tread" and quoted at $29.83... don't know if this is the cheapest or not, but you can at least check them out...

Hey Screwyfits, are you using tubes with the nankangs or no? If so where can I get them? (Sorry for the pseudo-hijack, revpaul.)

I have two CadKat 21x12-8 ribbed on a set of aluminum rims from a German aircraft company for the rear. The rims are as wide as the CadKat rims but I had to have a machine shop mill off excess weight as they were too strong. The same company had standard buggy width rims that I shoed with the Duro 4ply grooved 21x12-8. The problem is I haven’t got to try them on the Hardcore XS 150 axle suspension bigfoot buggy.
Still in Las Vegas and will head out tomorrow for Reno and look for dry lake beds for a while.

cool. that's what i'm talking about
all this may be for not though. went out today and talked with a football parent about this years upcoming practices/games schedule. he said games will be played at high school's new field this year. cool. then he said they were also adding on a couple more soccer fields. even more cool.
..then he told me why they are playing at high school. the city is planning on redoing the entire field(s). uh oh :( i have no idea what's going on about redoing the fields but i know there people who don't like us out there and will probably voice hard to ensure were not allowed on (tearing up) the new field(s).
we did leave some marks/power slides when we were first learning but they were never permanent. once we got the hang of it we were careful to make turns without the power sliding. all the football/rugby cleats 4 times a week do all the damage. . anyhoo, me thinks me better leave the slicks on for awhile. hard for someone to complain about those things marking up the grass.

Just put my new rubber on today!
Nanco 16X6.5-8
I can't wait to try them out (now if only the rain would stop)
We have a patch of sand right in the middle of our park that somehow I always seem to find.
I will now roll right over it and I will also be ready for SOBB:smilegrin:

Cheers all!

Copy and paste :http://www.tiresunlimited.com/ALL%20TIRES/Duro/Lawn_and_Garden/duro_lawn.htm

Scroll down to HF217 ribbed turf tread. I think I might go for a set of the 18/6.5/8 HF224 turf tread up at the top of the page. Yeah they are lugs but they look shallow and they are a little bigger.
