Any riders with Virginia Beach Advice?
Hey guys im going to virginia beach this summer and am debating making some room in the car to bring my kites and landboard. Any words on beach
conditions or wind conditions? What kind of wind speed and quality am i looking at on average, and what kind of sand conditions. Let me know
anything u have!
Thanks,

Landboarding isn't real big around here. The beach crowds can get pretty thick so that could be a reason. There's a group of kitesurfers however
that come out whenever it's windy. There's also usually a SE thermal in the afternoon which is a perfect side on condition. Be mindful though, the
Virginia Beach kite crew is extremely protective of there beach. It's not that they don't like non locals and don't want to share...more that
everyone is afraid that it's just a matter of time before someone does something stupid with a kite and get's the beach banned as a result. Surfing
was banned here a while back for several years and it took a lot of politicing to get it back. Nobody wants to have to go through that with a kite
ban. Virginia Beach is an extremely tourist oriented city and as such the city will do whatever it takes to keep the tourist safe and coming back.
If you do decide to bring your kites and fly them just use a little common sense and you'll be fine.
There is a "secret" spot in Hampton that Weldngod frequents pretty regularly and a few of us meet up with him occassionally. It's a bit of a hike
from the parking area but the beach is awesome and it's never crowded. Hardest part is getting the tide and the wind direction to cooperate.
