Interesting story...
While buggying, came across a turtle this evening, an unfortunate victim of a boat strike...I called a buddy at DNR and was instructed to keep him out
of the advancing tide. We used the buggy to tow the 80-100 pound (deceased) turtle to his truck, probably half a mile. Pretty impressive how easy it
was, and for a good cause...it was a Kemps Ridley, full grown and healthy. These were the most endangered turtle recently, but are making a comeback.
The smallest of the sea turtles, a necropsy tomorrow will help us learn more about these guys and how they are doing. Maybe next time it will only be
an injured turtle. Also of note next week, our Coastal Wind Sports JIBE benefits the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.

Bummer- I love turtles. I used to do a lot of diving and my top three critters were octopi, sharks, and turtles. I liked the eels too, but they are
so cranky. That's pretty cool that JIBE is a benefit event.

Sad story ... I've rescued a few turtles off the roads here - people think I'm mental. Turtles are neat, all cephalapods rock and sharks are awesome
too
