Lot of hype and gung ho stuff that seems a bit over the top to me.
Be interesting tio read their account once it's done.

The wind powered kite buggies can reach speeds of up to 120km an hour, and if the teams complete the challenge it will smash the current kite buggy
world record distance of 1000kms.
One of our Desert Gang (Angelo) completed the Transat de Sable (North Africa) and commented that the Empty Quarter (largest sand Desert in the world)
is a more interesting and just as tough a place to buggy.
Our terrain is rugged & have buggied over 10,000 kms in the last 2 to 3 years with very few problems. I build my own buggies to meet our desert
conditions.
If he thinks he can run up top 120 kph on rugged ground, I'd like to see that. Our flatest floors here have you airborne when doing between 60 &
70 kph.
If I average 25 kph during a day's travelling throught the desert, then I'm doing well.
To do that sort of distance here would require about a month of buggying. Hope the wind blows well for them the whole time.
