Right kind of kite for jumpping ???
HI !!!
I'm 100kg and have tried to do some jumps with HQ Beamer III 5m.
I feel this kite pulls very strong but I can´t get good jumps from her , Am I too heavy for this size of kite ?
or it's just a question of technique ?
Thanks !!!

You get technique down and you should be able to get some air with this kite in the right wind...
Now that being said, this is not a jump kite or lifty kite... work on your technique while you look for that lifty kite so when you get it, its
BOOOOYAAAA time...
By the way welcome to the forum...
There are several jump/lifty style kites out there, lots to consider, your weight, your normal wind conditions, your budget...
Here some (not all) lifty, jump style kites to gander at...
Flexifoil Blade IV (IV is the newest and the V is due out later this year)
Ozone HAKA
U-Turn Oxigen II
HQ Crossfire II
Peter Lynn Twister II
Pansh Ace
Mac Bego's (not familiar with them myself)
Several of the depower's also (more advanced kites)
I'll try and add more as I think of'em and I'm sure other members will add some soon...
Good Luck, and fly safe...
Check the Kite Jumping section here on the Forum for a ton of great info and advice, even technique...

keep your kite high and swing the kite to the left as you run to the right.

Your Beamer is designed with reduced lift. To jump with it, you will need to be at the upper limit of winds you can safely fly it in to get it to
lift you off the ground. In other words, you won't have much margin for error if things go wrong. To jump with a Beamer, you will actually be
letting it float you downwind by jumping while you generate power up high in the window. If you are indeed ready to do some jumping, (determined in
part by your skill level which comes from flying hours) you can actually do it more safely with any of the kites that screwy mentioned above that ARE
designed with lift. I have experience with the Beamer III, HQ Crossfires I and II as well as the Blade IV. Both the Blades and Crossfires are
fantastic kites to jump with in proper winds for the kite size and body weight. These lifty kites will actually lift you straight up and float you
down with proper technique with little downwind drift. Groundspeed generated by drifting downwind while in the air is a significant means to injure
yourself since you can either land sideways and get thumped to the ground or just get moving so fast you can't run as fast as you are flying. Worst
case scenario, you do both at the same time.

Also try flying your beamer blind ie without looking at it, both up near the zenith and down into the power a bit. stay away from the edges of the
wind window until you start to get the hang of it. easiest when the shadow of the kite is visible. This will help you a lot when beginning to jump,
as when you start getting air your attention will be split between where you're running, where the kite is going, and where the ground is in relation
to your feet. It really helps to be able to re-direct the kite without looking at it. It's the sort of thing you need to practice a while, then
you'll find yourself doing it without thinking about it while jumping (sometimes) then it will begin to click and you'll start setting up and
executing jumps without looking at the kite. It really adds to the feeling of freedom, another step closer to having wings on your back.
Just started doing consistent, reliable, controlled jumps myself over the past two weeks.... Been very nice to have it starting to come
together!!!!:wee:
and for the record, you'll not be jumping much until you get yourself under a lifty canopy. If you're jumping with any consistency on the beamer by
then (even if you're only getting your feet off the ground for a split second) you'll be amazed by how easy it is to get air in the right winds with
the lifty kite. You'll need to be very cautious and controlled with it until you get the hang of it and have weathered a few gusts.
and finally, the chris whittakker vid is solid, but it's only the beginning. the interplay of the angle back you run, the speed you run, the timing,
rate, and speed of the kite initial turn and redirection, the depth of the kite in the wind window, and of course the strength of the wind all work
together, it's really a lot to get one's head around.
be safe, though. the thing with jumps is that you never really get to the stage where you know what the jump will look like before you do it. close,
in some winds, but usually you watch the jump unfold and sort out any problems as it progresses. easier to say than to do....
have fun!!!!
fixed bridles, flying static, been two years now... ??? folks must be wondering....
sting 1.7, dp power 2.5, crossfire 3.2, ace 5, blade iv 6.5, ace 8, ace 12...

Wow Man !!!
That's it !!!
I flew with a 10 m kite today at 20km wind and felt like I was 50kg man !!!
I did 1,5 - 2,0 mt jumps and felt great, she pulls me very easy and landing was very soft too.
The kite I tried today was a SOL 10mt made in Brasil but I thought she is very slow what difficults to redirect.
Now can you guys indicate me some good jumpping kite about 10mt ???
Thank you again !!!
and let's Fly !!!!!!!!!!!!

i prefer the blade series 6.6 and ive been using a pansh ace 6m as well--you get some good clean fairly strong (15-25 for me--for you about 10-15
)winds and you'll be jumping your a@@ off in no time--just please be careful and mindful of the risks involved--kite jumping can be made safer-but its
never gonna be totally safe--so play it cool:singing:

be careful jumping high with beamer's cause they can be tricky to redirect at times , and as has been said before-they are not made for that
purpose...best bet on the fixed bridle front is an old blade . all of the earlier editions are great for jumping , and can be sourced quite cheaply
