Hey Bobby,

Do you live here now or just visiting? We need to hook up. I'm a friend of Rodel and Sav.
I've tried numerous times to get together with you guys, during my visit to Manila, couple of years back, but failed.
Anyway, San Fernando Valley is quite far from where I live, but if you're itching to just static fly, any soccer or open grass field with wind will do. (I'm not too familiar with that area at all.) If you make it up north, I'll take you to Shoreline Park. I've got extra buggy you can use. Just give a holler.

Hey Bobby,

I live in Encino and buggy at Balboa Park or at the dirt field on the east side of Balboa Lake...just follow that road around the lake heading east and you'll see it on your left as you leave the park. It's not the best spot in the world and it's a little small but it's usually always empty and the winds aren't too bad (i.e. gusty) from the east or south. If the winds blowing > 8mph, I usually go there after work (arrive there at 4:45pm) before I have to leave and pick up the kids at school. I'll be the tall guy wearing the black helmet.

Shoot me at email at pmryden@yahoo.com if you'd like to hook up. I got quite a few kites and a landboard and two other buggies in storage.

Hey Sailors,

Not too far away is El Mirage Dry Lake - Elmer's.
Come the weekend AFTER Memorial Day and you'll find a small contingent of buggy'ers there.

It's the Sprang Buggy Thang - A non-organized gathering of wind enthusiasts.

Check out www.buggythang.org for more specific directions.

That's the place to be May 29-30-31.

Hey bobbyjones1205,

You can't go wrong heading up to Antelope Valley(Palmdale or Lancaster). I used to live there and there is boatloads of wind that come through that valley DAILY!!!!!

Two reasons I left that area whole lotta dirt and a whole lotta WIND!!! Of course it was prior to me getting into kite flying.:singing:

PS.

The drive is about 40 mins North of San Fernando Valley. 405N to 14N.

The wind should hit you the minute you start dropping into the valley above Palmdale and the next town in will be Lancaster. There are HUGE fields in both towns. If you want to go a bit farther North you run into Mojave Dessert.:wee:
