Best Place To Watch Some Buggys
Hi, I'm still up here in the foothills looking for places to kite. Found some small static fields but now that warm weather is here, been flying at
the lakes. Had some fun body dragging with the Hydra 350 until the wind died.
Myself, GF and her son want to watch some buggys. I've seen a few post where you guys are going but they were old post.
Charleston SC is about 3.5 hrs. The CatchSomeAir kite shop shows plenty of kitesurfing places but you won't see much as they will be off shore. So we
would like to hear of some buggy places where we can go watch within a 3 or 4 hour drive from upstate SC.
I'm thinking a buggy has got to be a real blast. Just can't buy one until I find a place to use it. Until then I would like to learn more by seeing
some in action. This would help in alot of ways when looking for places to use it.
So if anybody can give me a good Saturday location, We would love to drop in. ( wind willing)
Thanks

We are looking for a weekend when we can get together again at OOBE field in Aiken SC. We have had a meet there before and it was very well recieved.
I can promise some buggies zipping back and forth if the wind is blowing even a little. How far is that for you?

It's about 2.5 hours or 115 miles to Aiken.
Not to bad.
What is OOBE Field?
The other post I read about was for a sod farm and a pollo field down that way.

Aiken Meet thread
This has all the information about the Aiken field. It is the same field that is referred to as the polo field in other posts. This thread is from
the last meet we had there. Great to see so many nice kites in the sky there.

Whish I would have been there. I think I had the waiver sent last year by tridude, then reinstalled XP without saving it.
If this starts up again, I wana be there.
I'll have to keep a better eye on the PKF.
Thanks, Bob

Looks like buggy's are giong to be hard to find. I guess most people don't have a usual time and just go when they can if the wind is there.
Anyway, if there becomes a planned outting, I would still like to check it out. Please send me U2U.
Thanks

Jekyll looks like a sweet place to go check em out but it's a bit of a ride pushing 6 hrs.
Think I'll use that gas money to put towards a buggy.
Thanks

low tide at Folly or Sullivans Island brings plenty of beach into play....................no buggies down here that Ive seen in 3 yrs and I may be the
only KGB guy around besides my son (thats what the water dudes tell me)............................3 hours prior to and after low tide make for a lot
of fun on the beach, Keep in mind it's tourist season so space on land is tight. There are no restrictions on Charleston beaches and we'd like to keep
it that way. Best spots to fly on Folly are on the south end (Folly Beach Park near the point)........................Sullivans Island bettween 25 and
31st blocks...................... :duh::duh:

Thanks tridude,
was hoping to find some bugs. I've flown at folly, well for a few minutes one morning then the peeps started coming out so
we packed it up. I liked the south end of beach walker park, but no bug there eather.
johnnylaing, you run across a bug at jekyll for around 3 bills, let me know and I'll make that trip, pick it up and see what an OBE is like the same
day.
Hmmm, might be like the last time we went to Charleston. Checked out of the room early that morning for some beach flying. Didn't do much but stayed
on the beach about half the day, got in the water alot, had to drive back without a fresh water shower. Uggg :sniff:
