Where to fly in Jacksonville
I'm in Jacksonville for a few days and brought a couple of kites with me. Unfortunately I did not check the weather forecast, and if you don't know,
it is constant and torrential rains here. I won't be flying any but I was curious if anyone knew of a good beach location for flying for the next time
I come back....
Thanks

There is a Hugenot Park between Jacksonville and Fernandina beach that seems to be a hotspot as well. You can drive right out on the beach. In St.
Augustine, Anastasia State Park is the place to go for desolate undeveloped beaches. The further north you walk, the fewer the people because they
had to walk or ride a bike to get there. You can go a few hundred yards north of the parks parking area and be completely clear of people even on a
weekend. I've been there twice and am going back in about a month. Wide beaches at low tide with mostly hard sand. Most any beach can accommodate
you flying static though. Those coastal winds are sweet and smooth. Most kites can thread a needle at the edge of the window with a smooth onshore
wind.

Thanks guys... I will check this out next trip. Anybody who follows the Weather Channel or anybody from the Florida Peninsula knows that this week has
been less than ideal. Just between us, I see a side of myself I have not seen before, that is, I am carrying 2 kites with me just in case there's
space and wind....

ripsessions... I looked at a map and figured that anything named Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville beach, etc, might be a good spot but then
South Beach Miami sounds good and it is :wow::wow:
but not for kites. I am discovering that the so called "good beach" has different meanings for swimmers, surfers, kiters, etc.
