GI landboard assembly
Just got the ak103 and I have some questions. i went to GI's website but their pdf manuals were lame.
It said that the bolt that holds the kingpin on the truck should be tightned so that 1mm of the bolt shows thru the nut... but the truck has some
wiggle if I only tighten that much... so i fell like i need to tighten til there no play??
To put the wheels on i used the spacers then wheel then nut so that the nut touches the bering. once i tighten til the nut hits the bering and theres
no wiggle in the tire there's a lot of resistance such that the wheel will not free spin. I'm guessing that the whel should spin free for a while
when spun. I think the nut it only touching the bering rim.. any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

You might want to call GI about the first question. Some of the instructions are less than perfect. They used the 1 mm benchmark for mounting the
bindings too and that wasn't entirely accurate unless I wanted the bindings L brackets flopping around.
For the wheels, this is what my instructions said and it seemed to work fine:
"Tighten the axle nut until it begins to hinder the free spinning of the tire. Back the nut off 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
Check to make sure the nylon insert in the nut completely engages the threads on the axle."
Following the instructions above, the wheels freespin fine and still feel rock solid.
The key points seem to be backing off just after feeling any resistance, but still fully engaging the inserts.
Did the bearing freespin fine before you mounted the tires on the axle?
Area the bearing fully seated in the hubs?
Hope that helps.
ATB,
Sam

The trucks should still have some wiggle in them when the kingpin is fully tightened down. Basically you tighten it without over torquing it (so
roughly 1mm extends beyond the nut).
You don't want the locknut on your hub too tight. Crank it down until it engages the bearing and then back it off 1/4 to 1/2 a turn so the wheel
spins with no resistance but doesn't wiggle back and forth on the truck.

I got the board all put together.... I must say that this has go to be one of the most difficult things I have ever put together.
The bolts that hold the trucks to the board... could they have made these any shorter and more impossible to do?
Let me make sure I'm doing this right... I put a washer on the bolt, put it through the board, through the rubber mount and through the truck hole.
(And yes I have the long bolts on the correct holes and slant of the rubber mount correct).
I could not get any of the nuts to go on to the bolts... there is just not enough thread showing on the bolt for the nut to get a hold of.
I finally took the washers off and had enough room to get the nuts on.
I hope with will not be a problem because I see no other way to do it.
