I'll be driving into Houston tomorrow (Friday) evening for the weekend. Anybody going to be around Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning/early afternoon? Don't have any of my gear with me though.

I dont know what slp is, my guess is sugar land park??? I dont know all i know is i hate my self for cutting my toe tendon at the beach, ive been out for almost a month now. 10 more days to go.

slp stands for san luis pass on the west end of galveston island. Right now east beach is off limits for buggys with several thousand beach goers. The pass will have more people on the weekends and if you can week days are best.

yo.... houstonairhead.... i live near the galleria.... i am down for a trip, but may need some planning. i am off work on tuesdays and wednesdays.... just let me know if you want to meet either of those days. besides that, i can usually get off on a day or two some other days... but i need notice for that.

san luis pass is the best bet on any given occasion.... after that, surfside beach. bolivar penninsula might be okay, depending on the number of people out... but last time i was out there, they were still doing a lot of work

I was thinking of hitting the pass saturday. COuld use a good sunburn One day I'll rememberr that the lotion only works if APPLIED not just sitting in the truck.

dylanj423 sounds good bro ill send you a message when i plan on heading into town to go kiting, I live close to the coast so it take me a while to get back to dtown. I want to hit up Bush park in Katy. I love that park its huge and the grass is always dead in the summer so it practally dirt by now for sure.

I will be in Galveston for my wedding July forth weekend and will also be on the cruise that leaves on the fith

first tip is avoid kiting on the beach on major holidays. too many people in the way... you from houston?

I moved to sugarland from rockport about 8 years ago but have never been to SLP before. I will be going down there with a buddy for the 4th. Been flying 2 and 4 string competition kites for years but never a power kite. Looks like a fun sport. I'm starting to collect some kites and boards. Also looking for a buggy if any got an extra forsale ... cheap...

Ive only been kiting for about a year now but ive been noticing how thermally it is here in south texas in the summer. Ive been having a few good sessions on my landboard but im realizing if im going ride smoother wind im going to have to make my way down to galveston. Any one going soon.?

I might make it down, I need a final session or two before I pack up and drive to Florida. I hear the sand is very soft above the tide line so be careful..........aj

Im pretty sure i can make it but i will let you know monday for sure if i am going to head out. San louis pass? Isnt it too sandy for buggying/landboarding. Do you ever go to east beach?

i do go to east beach.... the hardpack at san luis is wider, and smoother, and there is more area to buggy on

east beach is okay, but san luis is far better, imo..... further, but worth the drive

East beach is off limits during the summer. It is too crowded and I know in the past they would not let you buggy there in the summer. You are better off going to slp right now.

East beach has more poles than ever! Maybe 200+ now and all the sand washed out on the channel side of the jetty.$8 dollar charge too! The glory days of east beach are gone! ...................aj

i was wondering when they were going to start charging to get on east beach again.... and the number of pole is pretty ridiculous, but at least there arent 50 trucks blazing up and down the beach anymore!

grrr i thought i was going to be able to make it out tuesday , looks like im not going to be able because of a job interview. have a good time!
