Hello,

I am looking for a kite with a very good lift. (no boarding or buggying, just plain jumps) At the moment I fly the Tribord 3.5 but I would like my jumps to be bigger. Wich kite of the following has the biggest lift and how many m² would I need? For info: I'm 1m78 and weigh 80 kg.
HQ crossfire
Flexivoil Blade
Ozone
HQ Beamer
Peter Lynn Twister

Well for static jumping the blade has the best reputation for sure but that's not to say the crossfire or Haka / riot aren't more than capable.

the Beamer is not a lifty kite compared to the others and I don't know about the Twister.

For jumping you generally want something 5 meters or above. So focus on a price range and then you can determine what brand of kite you can afford in the size you need.

Flexifoil Blade 4.9 or 6.5 (no more 8.5's unless used)
Crossfire II or Twister II 5m +
Haka should be good choice but I do not have experience with it to make the call.

Blade is king of lift but an aggressive kite, IMO violent in gusts.
Crossfire a versatile kite with ground adjustable bridle. Very stable in the high lift position but requires finesse in the low AoA/ fast position.

Both Crossfire and Twister have smooth non-violent power build up.

Just saw that the Blade doesn't come ready to fly. Think I'm gonna go for the Crossfire instead since this is a ready to fly package.

You mentioned price isn't an issue, have you considered one of the ARC's and depower? From what I have read they will smooth out the gusts and depending on the brand/model, give you good lift. The Synergy is on the short list for being phased out. You can pick one of them up easy. Plus if you ever get into moving sports (ATB, Buggy, kiteboard) you may have a match made in heaven.

A proper high end depowerable kite will out lift a Blade, give much more hang time, better overall control - and be safer.

Having a depower for static flying is like keeping a tiger in a small cage. They need to roam free on a atb or buggy. Crossfires are awesome kites

I'm sure any dealer you would get this kite from would make it ready to fly for you.

DAKITEZ hit it on the head. I believe any dealer will sell a Blade rtf. I saw that you listed the Twister as well. I have a Twister II 5.6 and I love it! Very stable, predictable, and lots of lift!

10.5 Blade III modified for depower. I know you said you're not into depower but this thing is a jumping machine and the depower is smooth and sweet. At worst you could always remove the expertly installed Flysurfer style depower bridle but I'm thinking that once you fly it, you will LOVE this kite. And, you can't come near it for the $400. It is near new, crispy and waiting for someone who will take it out and make it sing!

Anyone tried the Ozone Flow?

Just bought the Peter Lynn Twister 5.6. (only kite from the list that they had in stock) Hopefully it flyes better than the looks of it. (what an ugly kite ;o) )

As a graphic designer, I have to admit some (actually, many) designs of popular and high-end kites leave something to be desired! :wink2:

In fact, to be a complete heretic, I have to admit I sometimes really prefer the patterns on some of those Asian knockoffs (including stunt and single-liners).

It's just me....

(Maybe I would normally be the target lifestyle and age group they were designed for.)

Same here! The cheap kites seem to be much more attractive then the better known brands. The only guys that haven't done a bad job are the ones from Ozone

The twister II leaves a LOT to be desired but what it lacks in graphic design, it more than makes up for in performance. Grats on the kite!!!! I LOVE my Twister II 5.6!

The first Twisters were much too colourful wich made em look like toys, the 2008 colourscheme was a lot better (black/grey/colour) and the new one only looks good in the right colours, but as a manufacturer it is soooo hard to decide on colours.
people seem to like different colours in different countries...
All a matter of taste in the end, but graphics and colour don´t determine performance, I´d rather fly an ugly kite that does its job perfectly then a beautiful kite that flies like a garbagebag.

Een design dat door zo goed als iedereen wordt gewaardeerd is de Ozone modellen. Het is niet enkel de kleur die het doet maar ook het patroon en de combinatie van de kleuren. Anyway zoals je zelf al aangaf zolang de kite maar goed vliegt ben ik er tevreden mee hoor.

Wie weet komen we elkaar wel eens ergens tegen aan de Nederlandse kust ;o)

I couldn't agree with that more.

I am a sucker for a good looking kite, but when it comes down to it I'll fly the ugliest kite around if it performs the best.

Not to say the twister II is a ugly kite, but I will say (like has been said above already) what it lacks for in looks it makes for in performance. besides we're not suppose to looking at the kite anyway. Look where your going

ive got a blade 10.5--great lift-stable in steady winds--a MONSTER in gusty winds--its great,but you have to rest alot as it really works you out--im 80k also--if you get a blade-id say a 6.6 would be a good all round kite for jumps and a good range of winds

i have a twister II and i'll admit it... i like the way it looks!
More standout colors (ie deeper blue/stark white) would be cool, but i like the design (looks like the bat-symbol on acid)

Ive gotten tons of compliments on how cool it looks... idk, beauty is in the eye of the beholder... not to hijack, but the twister performs really well, and ive had nothing but good times with it... My only complaint... its not a 7.7 lol

Peter lynn has one of the best looking kites out there, the phantom... simple and cool, thats one reason i like the twister.... simple and cool:moon:

When I flew Rip's 7.7 T2 I thought it looked almost identical to my old 3m Brooza ( similar the PKF logo ) at 1st. Even the same red black and white but with a bit of grey?

I liked the Brooza graphics as much or more ?

I just picked up a 7.7m T2!!!! coincidentally i also picked up a pair of knee/elbow pads and wristguards today...
