I've heard shorter lines speed up things a bit and can be a lot of fun.
But can longer lines get you up where the wind will be cleaner and make and otherwise gusty experience smooth out some due to trees and such?
Most of the videos, especially jumping clips look like they are using lines a lot longer than 25m. Might just be the perception.
I don't see lines for sale (4 line sets) that are any longer, but haven't looked very hard.
I tried a few pendulum jumps today with the Ace. Probably not enough wind and was really just testing the kite for ability to hold my weight.
While hanging around the Z, the wind seemed smoother. No chance leaving it there, if it ain't moving its coming down.
So if you wanted to jump, wouldn't longer lines put the kite in better wind for that? or do you sacrifice other more important aspects related to it.
Would it just be a waste of money to buy longer lines when I replace them or does 25m lines work best for most all situations, jump related?
