Lots of SoFKA members up there (Southern Flied Kiters Assoc.) there in North GA and southern SC. I'll let them chime in. Several will come down to
Jekyll Island from time to time or make a meet-up up there in SC. Look me up if you ever make it south.

Thank you guys for the warm reception!
I mostly fly up at our vacation house in northern Michigan (Cheboygan) due to what I thought was a lack of locations here in Cumming (and lack of
winds). But recently I have noticed a guy flying what appears to be a Beamer Mk3 on the corner of Highway 9 and Bethelview in that undeveloped field
next to Ingles. That got me interested in local flying and I am looking for some fellow dorks in the area that might be able to share their knowledge
and some super secret locations

Welcome to the Forum.
Hitch a ride with Kitedog to Jekyll Island, he goes all the time. You'll get used to the dogs sitting in your lap after a trip or two. If there is
goat in the truck, take a pass.
Hope to meet you at a SoFKA meet up soon. Lot of good people. Lot of good kites!

Hey!
I've got a decent field to practice static flying. If you're interested, drop me a U2U and we'll try to find a good day.
Mel's right. I do try to get down to Jekyll as often as I can and sometimes I need someone to share the ride with...

Weeeee!!!!
I took my beamer out yesterday to the field next to Ingles on exit 13.....
IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!
Sucks that Kitedog was out of town.
It's a shame that he missed all of my shenanigans.....
Couple of friends came out and some of their significant others....
Gotta love the guys that say "If you can do it so can I"
Put some kite killers on for safety and watched this guy eat it pretty hard because he was to macho to let go.....
Was it a bad call on my part for letting him do it?

Wow, you are talking about a field I tried to fly in just 2 weeks ago. (No wind when I had the opportunity). You know its bad when you are setting
up your kite at the same time the hot air balloon is setting up. I have a cousin that lives about 5 minutes from there and that field is where he
flies at all the time. He has an HQ Crossfire 5m. I'll ping him and get him to get in touch with you

HA!
That's who I see out there every now and then when I drive past the field. That would be awesome. give him my email anderaa1@gmail.com
Sending you a U2U with my cell.
Yeah it's pretty rare to find wind out that way.
Even when you do it's so inconsistent that it will drive you nuts. Yesterday my wind window changed directions so many times it was crazy. Lucky for
me there is a flag out there that I use for direction.

Hey Everyone!
I just moved to Marietta GA about a month ago and wanted to pick this up ( after a friend showed me the ropes in Europe ) I was dreading 5 hours drive to the coast when I'm still learning.
Thanks for the Tip on the area! Is there anywhere else near by that would be good?

Wow, I'm surprised to hear guys from around Atlanta. I used to live in Buckhead (2 big moves ago), boy do I miss the South. (No on in TO. has heard
of sweet tea!)
I have some friends there that are interested in kiting. Is this the spot you're talking about?

Atlanta dude here. I'm sick of trying to fly in Piedmont Park. Too many people and not enough wind. I'm going to have to check out this Ingles
spot.

Call me if there is a good south westerly. I've got a good place if the wind is from the sw or south. Check your u2u for my digits.
