Montana flying range

I had my Montana 5 out yesteday in the buggy at the wind was 16-18-21, so for me that's a good sweet spot. then the wind got crazy. I was OK in 23-26-28 although it was picking up my 215# on anything by slow redirects. I pulled the trim strap all the way, and was flying almost fully depowered (middle center line knot). Of course then the wind picked up again to 25/28/35. So much for the forecast:p I was almost ok going upwind but I had so little beach to tack with that I had to do a lot of turning and even aggressively going upwind I was pushing 20-25, weeee. Lots of soft sand on wide tires too.. boo! With the logs and such I called it a day. tried to land it with the strap but the kite didn't budge from the sky so I pulled the safety and wrestled with the kist for a few minutes til I got the parking straps on.

First time I took the kite out in over 25 (lull) and I felt solidly overpowered for anything but aggressive up wind. I couldnt' have imagined putting the kite up in that wind. As it was when I launched in 18/20 I got a good 25ft skud. What wind range do others find on their Montans's or equivalent 5m depower in the buggy?
