Anybody useing these lines?
Got a set off ebay last week and don't know if I should just keep them as a spare or put them on the 5m ace.
Seems they put one or two sets a week up for bids.

i put a new set of these on my blade 10.5 today and did some scudding and jumping.....then later, when the winds picked up, i used the same lines with
a blade 4m to do a little buggying--they seem fine, but i wouldnt feel real comfortable jumping very high with them........

I believe the general rule of thumb for lines is front lines 2x your weight and rear lines 1.5x your weight. So if you're 165lbs...

I have 2 sets of these and flew the crap out of my main set till the power line broke. I jumped, skudded my ass off , buggied and abused them to the
bitter end. Took about 1 1/2 years till it broke.
I always had confidence in them and you should too. What are you comparing them to?

I wasn't really comparing, I got them for 28 dollars (new in package) so couldn't turn them down. If I was comparing it would be with the HQ lines
that came with the beamer. Those seem to be great lines, All I have are HQ and Pansh.
Still waiting on the flexifoil lines in the mail, I think they shipped Monday. I was thinking about useing them with the Ace 5m to replace the Pansh
lines when they get a bit older.
The Ace will be used for jumping. Mostly by step son who is under 150lbs. I might use it some myself (200lbs) but for now we're not getting big air,
just learning and seeing about 4 footers.
From what I'm reading, the flexifoil lines will be fine for this. Big air? dunno, but thats a ways off.
Reminds me, him and his mom flew some today while I was at work. The wind was picking up some so she was walking to the car to get his helmet. Too
late, he went by her in the air and got slammed pretty hard. He said he thought it broke his arm but got over it pretty quick. It's funny now, but
could have been bad.
Have to say, new respect learned for the Ace.
Thanks for the line info. I feel pretty good about them now.

Yes arkay, the first post said I got them from ebay.
Been watching them every week. They'll put another set up as soon as the previous one ends.
Is there a differance between new Flexifoil lines bought on ebay and Flexfoil lines bought somewhere else? I'd think not but your post sounds a little
like these lines are not what they should be.
You've probably forgot more about kites than I'll ever learn, so all I can do is ask for your help.
Sounds like they are pretty good lines. But I do wonder, why so many because your right, you always see some on there. I guess in any case, if they
are good enough for these guys, then there good enough for me.
Thanks

Could be "new, old stock" meaning someone wanting to move out the old product and replace with new. Flexi is Flexi as far as I know. HQ has a couple of
"levels" of lines but I have never seen this with Flexi.

Those lines on Ebay do not look like Flexifoil. Well they do ,but I do not recognize the packaging- looks counterfeit.
Flexifoil has done much to cheapen and devalue their brand this year, but I am not sure they would sell their lines on eBay for scrap prices
The barcode sticker in the photos has what looks like the right part number, but the format and placement is all wrong.
A Chinese knock-off of a Chinese-produced product. Funny. Anybody wanna buy a Rolex? Ten dolla!!

i have purchased a lot of gear from the guy that is selling those lines... numerous linesets.... four kites.... my kiteboard.... my harness.... etc...
he's a good guy, no counterfeit gear there... very good prices... i imagine its just old stock... not knock-off either...
the guys store used to be called "Extreme Air Store", and their number was programmed into my phone, I liked dealing with them so much...

While the Extreme Air guy might be a great guy that has always taken care of his customers, I wouldn't discount Angus's intuition on the nuances of
Flexi packaging. He has handled a set or two of Flexi lines, over several years now. You could both be right and they are some really old stock that
he got a racehorse deal on a truckload of and just keeps on listing them till they're gone. Maybe someone should ask him directly and see what he
says, or what the way he answers says between the lines.(No pun intended)

Are we looking at the same advt?
http://tinyurl.com/nvsn23
That's what i found when searching for "Flexifoil line set"
Could be really old stock, I suppose. 3+ years maybe. I have not seen 150/ 100 kg line sets. that is somewhere between the little Sting line sets
(100/ 75 kg) and the currently offered sets at around 200/100 kg minimum.
If the guy is a legit dealer then I did not mean to 'diss. But he calls them "kiteboarding kite" line sets which made me think he does not know what
he is selling. Or just uses those keywords to attract hits.

same lines.... definitely not for kitesurfing, though... old legit stock, i am sure flexi doesnt make them anymore... but they work just fine... they
could also have been produced fror sale in another location, with different packaging ... happens sometimes in other things, not so sure about
kites... anyway, buy with confidence, those guys are fine, though i think they lost so much money that they are now just selling on ebay, they used to
have a store front...
you might be able to forfeit something like the logo.... plagiarize the name.... use the same color scheme.... but the quality is the same, too... so
i will buy these linesets until they are gone, and save $50 per lineset!! the 8 kites that i have put those lines on have never had any issues, so if
they are fakes (and i would bet that they arent), then they are good enough for me, and with the $400 i have saved on kite gear, i can afford another
kite!
happy flying, all

Interesting that someone tested the then current bid by increasing their bid by $0.50, 13 times.
Oh yea, I'm sure $0.50, 9 hours before the auction ends, will win it...

The lines finally got here. I recorded a video as I took them out and will post it here if it uploads in this life time.
They look really good and I'm sure they are Flexifoil.
Gesh, there must be a better way to upload to youtube. Maybe the camera settings are too high.

I assume the buyer is happy with these lines?
I'm planning on getting myself a set for my 8m Gual for jumping, this will save me some money and the hassle of making my own lines.

your main power lines should be ATLEAST 2.5 times your body weight, i dont know about rear lines. I had a friend who bought these lines not knowing
much about power ratings and pounds ect... he put them on his 15m Waroo he made it about half mile down wind (in water) and snapped a line while
comming in not even on a jump. Hes not too heavy either, 160-180 pounds.

I'm looking at these lines for jumping and wrestling on sand.
How come the land VS water kite lines AND kite sizes differ so much? On land it's 3-8m, on water it's 8-20m kites. On land its 300-400# lines, on
water it's 600-800# lines. :Ange09:

You need more power to get moving on water... not to mention that you are probably looking at fixed bridle kites vs depower kites... fixed bridles are
more efficient at catching air (so you dont need a huge kite), and are generally open-celled kites... you need either tube kites or closed cell foils
for water relaunching... these are generally depower kites (and less efficient)...
stronger lines for the same reason... you have more power being exerted on the line, so it needs to be a lot stronger

On fixed bridle kites, the primary load is on the front/ main lines, hence they are stronger. The load on the brakes is mainly for trim.
On de-power kites, the loads are more evenly distributed on the four lines, hence they are the same strength.

Got the product, $26, looks great, can't wait to try them out.
In fact can't wait to buy any power kite, and try one. Hoping Pansch Ace 5m from this forum will work out for me.
