How's it going with the Ace DeadHead?

Not sure where it's off to next - anyone else want to try the 5m Ace?

Had the chance to fly it static in about 14 (and dirty) winds earlier this past week. Nice little kite - a little bit of lift, with pretty good power delivery through the window. Set the brakes a bit loose, and she handled well. As mentioned earlier, a bit of tip curling at the edge of the window. Had hoped to try it with the bug this weekend, in some cleaner wind - but alas, winds were dead offshore, and not enough beach.........

Haev it all packed up ready to go - just let me know where.

Do you want some more time with it? There is no rush to send her home.

Great day here after all the rain and cold......... mid 60's, sun shining, just beautiful...........only one small problem - NO WIND!! :flaming:

Spelo, got the Ace out today - you should have it mid week or so. Hope you have better luck with the wind goddess!

This morning it was 25-35 mph wind. Yesterday was a light breeze and 3-5' waves. Here's the link to my photobucket and some jetski videos from yesterday-couple backflips, rolls and wave rides.

Hi-I got the kite today undamaged and ready to fly-sort of. The bridles where a mess of tangles. I need to post up a short video on how to pack a kite on my Photobucket page.

First impressions of a kite are important and I'm not super impressed. The bridle system looks fragile and is made from "lesser" quality lines than I'm used to. It looks like I'll break the bridle lines easily.

I like the canopy it is slick looking. The colors are cool and the fabric feels ok.

Right now there is zero wind so I can't even hook up some lines and give it a whirl. But I don't think I trust this one to higher winds and surfing in the ocean. We'll see. First impressions are not always correct!!

Mea culpa, mea culpa......... packed it up on that first try in a bit of a hurry, and didn't get a chance to re do it..............

No big deal. I figured it was packed in a hurry. I spent about 45 min to 1 hour getting it undone. :ticking:

It was good because I got to inspect the lines and attachment points up close. Not sure I like the loosely braided bridle line. I've got a feeling it would not last long on the beach with lots of sand working it's way into the line.

I've give the kite a shot and maybe get to do some ATB riding with it. I'm a little sketched about taking it on the water due to the bridle line.

I'm gonna have my Ace and all my other kites at Fernandina beach (Amelia Island FL) next weekend. I'd love to share with anyone that could make it. Anyone interested? It's the weekend of the 16th, a long weekend for some.

I'm getting crushed. There was wind all day but it died in the afternoon!!!! Still haven't tried the kite. Maybe this weekend.

You guys should show at least some general location in your control panel, if not your city and state/province, so we know where you are without having to remember something you said months ago. I think it makes this more a community if we at least know what portion of what state/province you live in. I guess a chain for a windsock has its pluses and minuses huh? For many of the posters here, I can see their name and then picture on a national or state map where they are and it helps to put their weather conditions in perspective.

Well it's not necessarily that bad by any means here. But once you get to Kansas, hold your hat.

Today's report....no wind.

Still no good wind.... I was able to fly my Blade 4.9 meter for a few minutes after work but there was not enough time to get the lines switched over to the Pansh.

Who is next in line?

Next question is does anyone have an objection to me keeping the kite for another week?
