You mean this?

It was a little boy that was just standing on the beach kiting with
very long lines and I drove by. He looked like he never saw a buggy and completely forgot to keep his kite in the air.
He crashed it in front of me and I dragged him over the beach with his lines around my neck for about 10 meters until I finally stood still. His mom saw it happens and came to apologize but every step she got closer to me she got more pale because she saw the injury upclose and almost fainted. When I got back to the car and looked in the mirror I knew why she nearly passed out, The wound is superficial like a burn injury and no artery were cut but I looks rather ugly and goes around back to my spine.

Fun story: I went to a retail shop the week after to buy new rope for in between the handles and when I got to the cassiere and said: 'I hope this one doesn't break like the other did..' , she looked a bit shocked at the scar on my neck and I could hear her think: ow God, is he going to do again what I think he already tried before...??

When my buddy and I walked to the car we had a big laugh and he said: '..did you see the look on her face..?'

:D:D:D:D

Kited lake Sunapee in sunapee n.h.. great wind, great ice and lots of kites and wing sailors. Well great except it died a few times. Right down to 0. I paced up twice then scrambled when the wind came back. By the end of the day the ice was like corn and we were laying deep troughs on high speed runs.

Might be the last safe weekend on the ice. Some people toured the whole lake. Some did fast reaches. Some sat on lawn chairs and watched.

Windstruck, do you recall the inflated dimensions of the 6 ply trailer tires? Mainly interested in width but possibly also diameter.

Also for anybody, same dimensions of midis?

You know..... I'm asking for a friend...

Woo hoo, alohabeaches. Welcome to the forum. I see you are from blaine Washington.

If you are interested in kite buggy bugging consider coming down to the next SOBB buggy event around labor day weekend.

http://www.powerkiteforum.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=31

Also some of the Canadian guys ride up at (Gary point?) In Vancouver. There are some restrictions and possibly insurance. Please talk to locals in the know before you go (Jed,Vlad,Gerald? Are you on the forum?).

Sincerely, Eric

For you friend, here are the exact tires: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TTFTK26/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b...

The website says these are 17" tall, but inflated on 4x8 Sysmic rims they measure in at around 15.5" tall give or take. Please see photos below. I'd say they are around 4.5" wide, again, give or take. These tire are seriously overspec'd for a buggy and seem to hold up extremely well on the harsh sandpaper like surface of the Ivanpah Playa. The ride is a little more "comfy" running big spongy Bigfoot tires but I for one really like the 6-ply trailer tires on this hard rough surface.

last thuesday i had a perfect evening session with a run just under 35 MpH but with only 7.5 knots of wind.

in the movie i flew the Libre Vampir 10.5m2 and eventually the Race Pro 11.5m2
someone was shooting pics and filming me.
In exchange for a ride he emailed me the footage for a short impression:

Mood: Get in my buggy!

[*] posted on 13-6-2020 at 12:48 PM

Well, it had only been about 14 months or so, so I figured it was time to get out and actually buggy, which is exactly what I did today! I've become too spoiled kiting at Ivanpah and the OR coast and just don't get a big kick anymore from zigging and zagging on soccer fields. However, missing IBX this year hit me hard and I needed some seat time. Things came together with strong winds (maybe too strong) and a free Saturday. One good thing I guess about the darn Pandemic is there aren't any soccer tournaments hogging all the fields.

I started with my 5m RS but needed to switch to my 3m RS+ after about half an hour when it really started to howl. Shaking off 14 months of rust with a 3m 6:1 AR DP racing kite was, err, busy at times. That kite has about a 2 cm turning radius, I'm sure of it. I don't mind that "fiestiness" on the playa (in fact I really like it) but controlling that wasp in janky winds going back and forth sideways on a soccer field was work!

Yay, got some! Finally. :D

Nice one Windstruck
Hope you won't have to wait so long for the next session. The soccer fields might not be IBX but it's better than nothing.

I had a session in the park today too and on Thursday. Like you, my first session this year.
It feels good to contribute something to the forum, even if it's only pottering about.

The wind was on/off jankiness, of course. :Ange09:

On Thursday I static flew my new F-One Furtive 6.4m for the 1st time.

Today, however, I was out on the 8m Genetrix Hydra, the largest kite I own and predictably I was underpowered all day. :(

I met a polish guy called Wojciech who was attempting to fly a Sky Tiger that he had bought from a charity shop.
It was still crispy and in great condition but the wind wasn't there for him, so he decided to film me on his phone instead and send me the footage.
The quality isn't great but nor was the riding.

Luckily the wind opened up just at the right time allowing for a few short bursts to cool my face.

So here's to more sessions on the soccer fields. :beeremoji:
