Great what am I chopped liver? No one mention the day before when I clocked my personal best at 64.5 mph and the boys couldn't beat it that afternoon;
Ok OK maybe the wind did die after that. LOL The next day the wind came up quite a bit stronger and I wisely decided to take the wife shopping in
Vegas. I knew the boys (Luk, Eli and Big John) would not give up until they beat my speed and surpassed it by quite a bit as they did. Luks speed
being the fastest I'd ever heard of and to this day still stands as a record 72.8 mph using a JoJo kite and a Libre buggy. Ever since then when we go
to the dessert we are prepared with 160 axles, stretched out buggies with lot of weights and deep seats , etc etc, but the wind gods will not
cooperate. So be it, because I would imagine at over 72 mph you need to change your shorts after each run.

Thanks for reply Susan,
I hope my new wider axle will help me get over 40mph. Any other women speeding in buggies out there?

Is Eli the guy that has sexy girls put their legs around him for trips on his buggy up and down the beach? If it is then I think they break the speed
record for "time taken from meeting man to having him between your legs"... that's an awesome way to pick girls up tho!
There must be some girl out there that gives you blokes a run for your money when it comes to speed - lets hear what the girls can do!

Su that would be me Big John that has several pictures around with girls going for a ride most of the pics are with Sarah and I which is Ricks wife.
Aj also gave a girl a ride like this though I don't think we took any pics of that ride .
As to your next question is there a fast girl in the world the answer is Yes and her name is Ute Niesan from Germany or Holland. I can't remember her
exact country, but she is fast probably faster than 98% of the male buggy population out there. She was also the designer of the elliot eccko kite
and probably a few more that I am not aware of.
Sorry Jellis I didn't mean to leave you out as I told you I had not had any coffee yet when I posted yesterday and forgot the day before. He is
correct we couldn't catch his speed the day before, but the next day mid 60's were quite easy to get to and beyond. Now since we set those speeds we
have returned with better kites JoJo RM+'s and longer wider streched libre custon buggies with weights and have not had the winds cooperate with us so
that the speed could be beat. The speed runs are a blast, but I do not recommend this for the novice or intermediate level rider attempting speeds
like this is for the pro level rider only if you make a mistake at these speeds you are done don't even bother calling an ambulance just call the M.E.
to pronounce you dead if you wreck.

Great stories from the Lake beds and from the man himself...the best I have managed is 52.2mph and many runs of 50mph with a camera man sat on my rear
axle (see video below)
I long to get over 60mph, I have the buggy, just need the wind

Yeah, I've had tandem passenger recorded at 56.7. I give those rides for free, on the other hand, if you want to wrap your legs around me in my buggy
it's gonna cost..... Personal best, right before Luk hit 72.8 I hit 68.9. My hands shook and had to readjust everything on my buggy after that. On
the coast at my local spots, Mike Feehan and Richard chased me in two seperate carS on the beach, going between 65-80 mph. It took two people
holding me on the ground helping me to my "Class 8 Parakart" Flying a 3m! To stop, My buddy Mike stood on the beach so I could fly my kite to him. I
have no idea how fast I rode that day, the run lasted minutes before I used up a 10mile stretch of beach on a downwinder. But it's going to
happen...with Ellis's inventions and mods.... I WILL GET 100MPH!!!! Or die trying!:evil::evil::evil::evil::evil: Time to stop asking the wind
gods. Time to get hooked up with dust devils!:evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:

Hey Su
I am sure I can go faster on the dry lake bed but now I have a dog and he rides in the buggy with me. I have made a special seat that I strap onto
the buggy and he sits behind me so I have not attempted to make any speed runs.
The dry lake is a very hard surface and has less drag than the beach so I am sure if I pushed it I could go a lot faster.

There are so many little tweaks that could be employed to substantially increase speed that haven't been employed yet! Manufacturers are always
chasing bragging rights for different records. It's only a matter of time before someone throws a few extra bucks at a proto kite with some trilam
ribs and 6 or 8 extra cells to make a true high perf. aerofoil, coupled with a microline bridle and line set-up. Add a smooth fairing to reduce the
enormous parasitic and induced drag on the buggy, put a wing on it to provide downdraft and 100mph is probably obtainable in less wind than the
current record was done in.
It will be interesting to see how the sport progresses.

Since this is on speed records, a couple of weeks ago I managed to break the speed record for a Dirtsurfer with a 4.8 Kitewing. 45.6mph, breaking the
old record by a mere 0.2 mph. As I am a lighter rider, I need to start weighing myself down to manage to break 50mph. Debatign whether I should weigh
myself down or my board. Ideas?
If you think it\'s hard explaining HOW something works, try explaining WHY it doesn\'t work.

I would think in any case, you would want ballast weight to be placed down low. The heavy board sounds better to add stability like with a buggy but
I don't know where you would strap it on with a dirtsurfer.
