Thanks. I'm happy with it, although the background colours keep changing on this forum oddly enough, so my 'centering technique' cover has been blown.
:D
I gotta do both. No holiday this year. Instead I'll try my best to do NABX and MNABX (More Northerly American Buggy eXpo)

So the firm votes thus far are for at least part of the second week of October, so I think it is going to be the week of 10/7-10/13. It also sounds
like most people will be showing up a little later in the week which gives me time to get things set up as far as a base camp tent. The plan as of
now would be that registration would include dinner for the participant (I'm sure there will be left overs because our cooks always tend to over do
it:smilegrin , t-shirt, stickers, patch, and whatever else we come up with for
goodies, lol. And rest assured, it will not be much of a fee, I just can't afford to go out of pocket for it. The cook stove will also be available
for use during off times in the event tent for those that need a way to cook food with a little less dust in it, though a little help with propane
refills may be necessary. Also in the tent will be a sign in/out board which we would highly encourage riders to use.
It will be a NAPKA event, so if you are not a NAPKA member there will be an additional fee which will simply be the one year fee for membership for
them. We will be able scan and e-mail membership forms as well as make the required number plates onsite so not a problem there. All they require
from participants at their events is number plates, membership, and helmets.

on the subject of plates, mine are not necessarily done to NAPKA specs, will I need to put something over them? or will it matter? I am a member BTW

We aren't in Europe, so it doesn't matter Mike. It's more for people who don't have anything and they would be the laminated cardstock style. If you
have regular plates with your number you are fine. Rich told me it was really for large events to be able to identify riders from a distance (mostly
for bad behavior:lol Don't think we'll have to worry about that.

That would be awesome Morrie. I need to verify some vacation availability (especially after missing so much time with my injury) as well as time away
from school if I'm enrolled in anything at that point. I won a millwright/electrician apprentice bid at work so my scheduling may be a little funny.
The plan would be to arrive Monday morning and get things set up. Wont take much- a couple of the tents like we use at SOBB, couple of tables, etc..
If I can't be there at the beginning of the week, there will be a couple of others involved in organizing the event that will be, so we'll get it
handled. If you are there, you can just accept NAPKA waivers in person, cant you? If I had the jpg file for the card I could make those there as
well. Nice thing to offer for new members.

I hadn't figured got sure where yet Morrie, most folks don't like to camp east side like I do because it comes with some obvious extra risks. let me
think on that one, but I'm thinking just a half mile or som south of the approach. Easy for later arrivals to see from the road.

I heard this morning that the county received a grant to finish the paving of the road. Maybe by fall there will be NO gravel road left.
Apparently BLM or the State has given someone the concession for the hot springs. A camping area and upgrade to the tubs are supposed to be in the
offing. A charge of $5 is planned.
The location I was talking about is on the west side of the lake, maybe 1/2 mile north of the house up from the shore. That isn't Carl's place at the
entrance to the lake. There's only 2 houses on the western side of the lake.

They are already charging at the springs and locals range from irritated to downright pi$$ed. They are not pleased with the break from tradition at
all. Part of the attraction was "look what is out here for all to enjoy." The guy at the springs is planning a small store, camping, and maybe some
other stuff. People are not happy with the fee because he hasn't made any improvements to the actual shack at the spring. Still got the nice bullet
hole ridden corrugated metal ambiance, :D

Pavement sounds great since the RV is not fond of dirt roads, but I would be happy if they would just maintain the access road down to the lakebed, a
little white knuckle in a 30' RV with a trailer

The first responder showed us a better approach road mike. You can drive right past that dudes house a few hundred yards up. You know the one that
has the bright lights on all the time at night? That's not his road, his driveway comes off of that. It's way smooth. Nice to know people in the
know now.

The road is supposed to be paved from 10 miles south of the lake to 30 miles north of the lake sometime this year. That would give a fully paved road
from Fields north to Burns Junction.
The GOOD approach Josh is talking about to the north goes by Karl's driveway (Karl passed away a few years back). There is or was a big mailbox on the
main road to mark it. The mail box is at N 42.520117°, W 118.531283°.
The BAD approach comes down past the spring on the hill. It's about a mile or so south of the good approach. We had to go out that approach one year
when we had 2" of water on the lake due to rain storm. It was a real adventure!
Here's the location we camped at a few years back N 42.498950°, W 118.529650°. FYI elevation is 4,042 feet.
