I don't know. I have not personally ever seen one. Keep in mind this is my first attempt at this. I'm far from being the expert.

There are plans for c-quads on kiteplans.org. To me they look much more difficult than an NPW. They have a frame and lots of seams. Plus, the plans are not in English and are not a easy to figure out as some of the NPW plans. Just getting the parts for the fame would not be that easy (or cheap). They do seem like very interesting kites, however. Since they are no longer being made, perhaps they just didn't perform as well as hoped, or not as well as newer designs.

Just guessing, but I wonder if part of their demise was safety concerns when flying around other people or events since it has a frame of sorts. Looks like the had something similar to the Playhut things that were popular in the late 90's which probably matches up close to when these were made.

Winds were around 8 -10 when the video was taken but did pick up a bit later... We were up around 15 I'd guess before the day was done.
Probably won't make a stack or mesh kites but I will make another with smaller voids to give me additional wind range. I think the stacks I have are quite enough.. You can see the Rev Stack AND the Bolero stack both in the background on the video..

At first the only things that would even stay in the air were the 8M Toxic and a SUL tirips being flown by a fellow kiter..

That is really cool. I would have never thought a mesh kite would fly, esp. in light wind. Great work. I love seeing new ideas. Hmmm - maybe I should try a mesh NASA once we start getting some wind around here.

I'd love to claim the idea as mine BUT, it's not. Eliot Shook is the pioneer behind the idea.. I merely made my own..

A Mesh NASA however would be a new idea to my knowledge.

It's great when our kids help us with music choices and stuff. I kept being torn as to whether your kite looked like a giant flying mustache or a bow-tie; both were great visuals! :D

Old thread resurrection alert!!! So almost 5 years later and I've made a few now. I've learned a lot along the way and I no longer use tails to make the mesh. I'm still learning new things with each kite. The Red White and Blue kite in the last picture was finished yesterday.
