Always looking for a reason to travel, so how is the landboarding there? Compared to say, Jekyll Island for anyone who knows both venues. Hardpack
real estate, for instance, is there some ride-able acreage?

I have not had the pleasure of riding at Jibe.
Seaside has fantastic hard pack sand. Nothing like Wildwood. I chose to use a buggy there. Even my thinner Coyote wheels stay on top at Seaside. Not
so much at Wildwood.
There is lots of hardpack on low tide. I am pretty sure it would be 2/3 of what I imagine JI to be. But I think JI is Hooj!
Now the catch.
Onshore wind is a very rare beast. With onshore wind you can ride for miles and miles without turning back. Too often the wind is sideshore or side
on. With those winds it is impossible to ride ATB on high tide. You need to deal with tide pools on the outgoing tide.
So.....
YES. You will love ATB on Sunset!
If you do want to go and would like to stay at buggy camp we can talk. I can probably set you up with a junky old tent and such. If you prefer a hotel
I like City Center hotel in Seaside but lots of choices.

Thanks for the info and hospitality! I've been looking for another reason to head back out to PNW. A couple trips to Seattle years ago and I've been
feeling the pull to come back. And Vancouver is a must! I'll be keeping an eye on SOBB as another reason to come out. Maybe Vancouver first drive
south and fly back from San Francisco. Have a great one!

Vancouver is a great city to visit and the Canadian Peso is running at about .75 to the U.S. dollar.
Winds here are hit and miss. Garry Point is the only decent kite park and it is not exactly the ultimate destination location. That is why we travel
south so much. If you ride water Squamish IS a destination location. The thermals hold up until mid to late September.
Another option is to visit the beaches in Southern Washington. There are a number of them. All with great hard pack for ATB. Odds are pretty good
that you would get folks to join you.

Alright, I couldn't bear the sight of "No posts in the past 24 hours"... that's just wrong!!!
I for one am excited as all heck for SOBB, now just a few short weeks away. I've got a new 7.0m RaceStar on order scheduled to arrive just in time to
bring with me right after Labor Day. This will allow direct 7.0m RaceStar vs 7.5m LongStar-2 comparisons, something I'm quite excited about should
the wind Gods serve up wind in the appropriate range while I'm up there. Also, because we'll be kiting over sand I'm perfectly happy to let anyone
test drive any of my Born-Kites. I'm reluctant to do that on Lake Ivanpah because of how harsh the conditions are out there. I know how much abuse
they take in my hands, and I just don't want to put that on somebody else. However, sand... bring it on!
The countdown continues.... :singing:
Born-Kites:
RaceStar+ (3.0m, 5.0m, 7.0m, 9.0m)

Cool beans brother. Are you going to be on skates? I'd think they'd work if the sand was real hard like after the tide goes out, but maybe a little
more "tough sledding" in the soft stuff.
I'll have both my LongStar-2s and RaceStars with me and you are more than welcome to test them out. If the wind is right we would be able to do back
to back 7.5m LS2 and 7.0 RS comparisons which could be fun. Happy to swap back and forth if the wind range is right.

A quick question for the folks that fly on Sunset Beach.
Will there be any need for me to bring disc wheels or does the beach dry off well enough for Bigfoots (Bigfeet????)
Thank you and see you soon

It looks like you will be riding on outgoing tides? There is lots of hard pack at low tide but it is probably most ideal for your discs after it has
dried out a bit? Beamer Bob can give 1st hand feedback. He ran his there once and I think will say don't bother???
Bigfoot are a HUGE advantage. You can ride the whole beach no matter what tide + can do limited runs in the dunes. Ask Eli or Sunset Jim about the
dunes before plowing in. They are sort of off limits.

Thanks for all the info.
I usually use my disks when there is a layer of water on the beach.
Stops me from aquaplaning and doing those uncontrollable 360's.

Best laid plans! I'm back to driving up Tuesday and Wednesday morning in time for the Wednesday low tides and afternoon winds. Read onshore winds.
Reason - I forgot about our "Minors Day" parade here in Park City that happens on Labor Day. I always take my daughter to that and can't start
missing that now. Dang.

Information for anyone new showing up.
At sunset beach we generally head north a mile or three from the beach access (marked out by counting the number of telephone poles in the dunes).
I am heading out Friday morning with hopes of getting down there afternoon / early evening.
