Blocking out the Memorial Day weekend for this event
It is only a little over a month away. Have not heard a thing from anyone here. It will be my first time and I am so looking forward to it to meet

Where is the exact gathering place for all the kiters on the beach and at the camp
Would like to see the exact gathering place on the beach on a map if someone here can help. I was told it is a few miles South of Astoria. Thinking
of getting a cheap hotel nearby. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

We are fortunate enough to be able to use Phil's back 40 for buggy camp. At buggy camp a big tent is set up with an amazing camp kitchen. Most nights
and some mornings meals are shared. Rented porta potty and firewood. All by personal contributions. The map is in previous posts. Or maybe Morrie can
post it again?
You don't have to stay at buggy camp to enjoy buggy camp. Book a hotel soon though since it is a long weekend. I recommend the City Centre hotel in
Seaside.
Take some time to look at past SOBB threads. Most of your questions will be well anwered + other tips.
The best beach enterance to use is Sunset Beach. Folks will likely gather around mile marker 2 to the right as you face the beach.

Morrie generally will post a pdf with buggy camp and the beach entrance shown on it.
The address is
89255 dellmoor loop
Warrenton Oregon 97146
Don't let google maps or satellite views confuse you. It transforms from a grassy lot with a mobile home and pole barn into buggy camp for four
weekends a year. 😁
Sunset beach is just a mile or so to the north.
Just over a month to wait...

There are generally extra buggies to borrow. I'll have an extra flexifoil Navarro with the hopes that my daughter might want to try (doubtful) .
Anyone is welcome to take it for a spin.

Just throwing it out there. I will not be at spring SOBB. (Tears rolling down my face) but...I do live in seaside and if someone is willing to go get
it from my house. There is a Libre Hardcore available for use. That I'm more than happy to loan out. Sorry but the MG Croozer is off limits LOL. But
Erics Navaro is an excellent option as well. You will NEVER regret going to SOBB. We are...for lack of a better word...family!

John, that's very kind of you to loan out your toys when you won't even be there.
Im sorry to hear that you won't make it, but work sometimes needs to come first. We will have to get together some other time before fall SOBB.
Im ready for some beach time...

Spring SOBB is getting so close!
BEST EVENT EVER.
I'm stoked. Lucy is stoked.
But we can't wait till SOBB, so we wlll have to make a pre-SOBB dry run May 11-12.
You know, just to check gear and beach conditions, etc. etc.
See if I remember how it all works. :D
If you can, come on out.
Always on the steep part of the learning curve.

It's quite on this forum.
Sobb is coming up soon. There is some chatter on the facebook "kiteoregon" page. Im ready for some relaxing. My daughter is coming with me for the
first weekend. I'm staying the whole time this year.
For sale:
I do have a never flown 12 M peak 3 (kite only)
And a 2.5" sysmic rim.
Let me know if anyone going to SOBB has interest and we will talk prices.
See you there.

ERIC,
It is only quiet because we are all packing up and too busy to log on.
Glad you can stay through the week this year.
Jesse will be at his first SOBB this year and he has been trying
to talk me out of my 12m Peak with no success.
I will introduce you if you don't meet him before I get the chance.
See you soon. It will be good to catch up.

I got my bigfoots on my sysmics.
Good to roll!
Taking the Friday evening ferry to get off the rock. Be there Saturday at some point.
Any interest from any new to the sport types in some low aspect ratio fixed bridles?
I have a big ol' PepperII and a big Flux... (don't go upwind all that well, but they get moving in lower wind). Maybe have some others too. I don't
want much for them, just think they should be flown. I'll leave them home if there is no interest.

Rick I wasn't begging or anything, but I did ask about 12m peak! Sadly, I won't be attending SOBB because of work but I'll try to make the fall one.
I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the crew. So far everyone has been awesome. My wife says she wants a dog like Lucy Rick!

Jesse, you are so close to SOBB,
just sneak up before or after work for a visit. :D
I will give you another chance to try a single skin depower
if you make it with good winds and tides .
Just bring your harness.
Otherwise just tell and listen to tall tales around buggy camp.
It's always a good time.
Tell Xinyi that there is only one Lucy dog, but she could be cloned . . . .
