YEAH I'm an 43y.o. geezer, and my mid-life crisis was trading in my 1st wife for the 2nd! ridin' the wind is a religious expedition ( like when your going faster than ever, and the thought of compound fractures make you start sayin a little prayer like "god please dont let me wipe out ,please don't let me wipe out!") Some people think" I just think life is supposed to be fun" well, duh yeah that's better than it suckin'. just trying to enjoy the little bit of good life I got left. peace....

Still good stuff coming in here. 43 is not old. Me being I think 45, holly crap! I never really think about that. Well the old saying "your only as old as the girls you feel" is true... in that case that would be 46 for me... But really, I just got into this sport within the past year and I keep hearing that it is an extream sport. Never thought I would be involved with an "Extream" sport but here it is,,, and its pretty damn fun.. not a mid-life crisis........ keep the thoughts coming in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am 42, and started kiting at 40. My wife finds it strange that suddenly I got into kiting at that age. She thinks it's my middle life crisis and I want to proof myself into what she calls an extreme sport. I don't. I would have started younger if I had been introduced to it before. For me it was just an extension to my lifetime skiing hobby, but when I tasted it, it got me and now I just love the wind and many forms of kiting. So glad to see that lot of people above 40 here. I keep telling my wife that kiting is not just for kids.

So I'm 24 going on 34... that means the wife is getting ready to leave her teenage years (14) and become 24. S'ok with me... as being able to kite at 15, 16 or even 17 would be a wonderful thing, even if I have to revert back to small single line kites for my late teens.

it's no mid life crisis ,I just never saw or even heard of it. one day while looking online for some fishing kites , and bam there it was some dude on landboard with a kite. Well being how me and my generation drained swimming pools to skateboard in, you know it was on!!!!! Then i saw the buggy and I knew this had me written all over it. I have always been an adrenaline junkie.

hey ,,,, i think its time to get this thing going again,,,,,,Its been almost four months since the last post......... any more opinions out there with regards to our sport and what other people have to say about it.... I think we pretty much decided that it is far from a mid-life crisis.

see how young you're acting ,young, perfect it really works. Not too many people over 20 fly in winds that intense.....you just scored some great experience....Now it's time for ibuprofrin and some ice! Remember...you might want to try that again.

I know you didn't ask, but.....I found a enzyme lab in Lake Oswego, VitaZyme. they have a supplement called Enflamazyme, I take it after long sessions or after many consecutive days riding. But in total I have about 15 different supplements to keep me fresh.

I was just poking some fun :D glad ya are getting back to where ya should be. I give my mom a hard time about taking a handfull of pills everyday. I think out all the stuff she takes there is 2 pills that she has to have. I try not take anything. I eat a good rounded diet and try to stay fit and flying kites helps do that for sure.

I have DJD as well. No disks ruptured but Ibuprofen is my friend when my neck spasms. didn't need any yesterday after a rolling landing out of a ten foot jump. That was a euphoric day in all.

Now this is what I am talking about>>>>>>>>>. Reading all the posts, had me nervous for a minute there,,,,, I have been buggying all winter, well since September and I am waiting to recieve my first landboard within a few days,,, going to give it a try,,, well I am going to do it,,, not just give it a try..... I have been reading the landboarding section of PKF and I am picking up all the tips and pointers.... Not looking at doing any jumps or anything just want to get moving and have some fun,,,, I assume just like the buggy,,, I started out saying that if I got going 15mph that would be good for me.... then of course once I hit 36mph I am consantly looking for faster speed. Any tips or advise?

I hit that plateau a few years ago when I realized I didn't need to buy any more tools. I have 99% of the stuff I need to work on everything I have. Not there with kites though. If I got all I wanted in kiting, Angus could go public!
