Yeah, we'll leave it to kite discussions.....I think there's actually much more knowledge to be had with this power kiting than with just kiting a paraglider. I'll be looking to you guys for the knowledge, hints and help.

The other day we went up to the soccer feilds where me and my dad go to fly kites. We where going to try out a kite our friend that had just started kiting bought. The kite was a profoil. The wind wasn't blowing very hard and I did not want to bother with bow ties and all the other stuff that comes with low winds. It turned out he had bought another kite. It was a weird shaped 1 line kite, so I got it out and started to fly. Well the kite had 1,000 feet of line on it, and me being Wexler I let all of it out, it was so cool.:evil:
The kite was at least 300 feet off the ground. I had forgotten how cool 1 line kites could be.

I use twin bridal delta kites for fishing off the beach further than you can cast.

I wonder what would happen if you put a 1000ft line set on a power kite? Do you think you could land it?

I am sure if you wanted to try something that bright someone would get you the line. It better be a small kite also. I personally would not try it. I was just bringing up conversation.

How about a Pansh Ace 2.0? It is wicked fast in the window . 500ft window + fast kite =no arms;-)

NO.

A power kite on lines like that would probably be uncontrollable. And it would be horribly slow to respond if it responded at all. It would also be slow through the window with all the line drag. Prolly very uneventful.

I'm sure if you went to NABX, you could link a good 10 sets of lines together if you really wanted to learn!

yeah wind resistance would suck the life out of it.But this could be an op-test for kite strength and control . Your kite might get a 6 line(25m of course )rating. meaning your kite could fly on 6 sets of 25m line put together as one. I can't go to NABX but if you guys get bored or drunk;-) put some line sets together and try it.

Yep, its called Spectra and Dyneema. 3% over 1000 feet is pretty spongy. Then you add line sag and you are outa control.
