That pic's taken when it's high tide??? Man, I would die for something like that....and the pic of Chad static with the inflato...look at all that
hard pack!
That's it...I'm moving to the Southeast...got room for another one on the beach?
BTW, I also got the 8.3...love that kite...been really tempted to try it once on water in the light stuff since I can't afford a Speed right
now...wonder what the low end is on water....hmmm

the static with lei is low at home taken by my wife, and the atb and static with the reactor taken by acampbell on jekyll at -2hrs. hightide.
i felt like the reactor would easyily take me on the water in 8-10mph. the absence of lift would make it quite challenging but i think it's doable
definitely on a big board.
as i have learned/ or opted (for the sake of be banned in total )the land sailing is out during the day. that's why i fly at night. even 9pm is to
early. ATB during the day now is quiet alien feeling. maybe a little during the winter.
the low tide blimp shot is between crowds at about 8-8:30. the rule is "be in the water" the fine is $500.00 if riding on land esp. with any
crowd/people present

How can you see well enough to ride the ATB at night? By moonlight? Headlamp?
$500 for a kite in the air is just absurd. I hope they've got that well posted. I can't imagine unknowingly setting up a kite and having a beach
police roll up and give me ticket for 500 beans. I think I might lose it. :flaming:

Whow, $500 bucks...geez....what's up with that...did someone get hit with a kite or lines in the past?
Fortunately, up in Oxnard we have miles and miles of basically deserted beaches with the wind blowing side to side-on 95% of the time which makes for
great kitesurfing runs but I can just imagine how great the runs would be with a 100yds of hard packed beach and onshore winds...one of these days,
though, I'm going to try a downwind run!!!

i will post a pic of the numerous posted signs at every access.
moon light makes easy. i have small lights on the rig, i run a small beacon on my harness.
i like doing it. It is void of people, surreal even. lights of any kind ruin the visiual acuity
no head lamps or any vision aids. you get used to it ,
i had about 50-60 sessions range about 2-3 hours.
it's not for everyone, it's not about the kite, it's not about the board, truly helps you forget those things, really helps the flow of the whole
ride and that's what it's about just going out and taking a ride. nothing fancy, no really hot tricks. i will admit the speed in the open setting
does feed the junkie in me but it basically is blind repetition. i have alot of fun doing it and my wife doesn't even no i've gone so it's like a
double does of more. it has really help my skill development becoming a better flier practically in my sleep.
but first ....gonna hit the water and commune with the wind

pics of the sign AT EVERY public access has one easily a hundred or so and the pics of the most recent rig lights the silver are AL and use a single
AAA, the are good but the batteries fail in 10-15hrs. i have rechargeable AAA. not so wasteful.

AJ .........i dropped that bid on time .... DUDE HAD A BAR TO GO WITH IT TOO. I FEEL LIKE IT WAS A LOW BUCK DEAL.
let you know when arrives,
can you add pulleys to the pivot on the wing tip for more depower or variable power (VPS) seems simple and add a little range? would this be a VII
mod.?

So help me with "NO KITES NOT UNDER MANUAL CONTROL". Seems like a foil that isn't a stunt kite slips through the cracks. What is their definition of
a stunt kite and sand sailing?

single line kite tied to a post, chair, whatever. stunt kite- a kite designed that responds to manual input. sand sailing- manually controlled,
wind powered device.
a few years back a group of manta fliers (blokart a modern version i think) got the town concerned, not sure of any accidents but that's the story.
could have been back in the 80's not sure, maybe the 70's. used to b a 3month NO period now it's 5months. with good reason flying day time now even
at low tide, the bikes, the people, and all their stuff. attracts the unwanted attention that can kill a good session. SO I rig and right to the
water.

Wow, I guess Hilton Head is off our vacation list then. We are welcome all up and down the carolina coasts as well as Florida, except Daytona I hear.
Too many places for me to just use good judgement and have fun to go to HHI with all those restrictions. I guess there are people lined up to get on
the island anyway so it prolly won't change anytime soon. They won't miss my money is what I'm trying to say.
On the other hand, I might come crash your place for a midnight run sometime. That is intriguing for sure.

i will be going tonight @ 1:30
i think you can make it.
serious ENE blowing on the water this evening the swells in some spots must have 8-10 feet the incoming tide current was 6knots running WSW down the
beach. the combo is more like winter. as soon as you put your foot down the current would knock you down
