The story gets better: he now claims he bought the kite from Coastal Wind Sports and Ripsession KiteBoarding, see http://cgi.ebay.ca/7M-Montana-4-Parafoil-Buggy-Snow-Traction...
How do you buy a single item from two stores? Especially when one store is on the SE coast of the US and the other is on the west coast of Canada.

Angus, you liking the free advertising?
someone from AWOC and Dakitez should bad mouth this F%($*#.
"It was purchased brand new from CoastalWindSports and Ripsession Kiteboarding Shop and A Wind of Change and Dakitez. I tried to return the item but
they refused to accept it."
ROFL.
On a serious note:
I've contacted my cousin the lawyer and she stated there isnt much I do can about the slander, i could prosue this in court but its going to be costly
and probably not worth my time and the outcome might not be much. he can/will return as some other company/username/shop.
She did say one thing. That it probably hurts you that someone is telling lies about your company or product, but you only see one company doing it
now, there are probably others trying to sell their products by bad mouthing yours. Sales is a greedy thing. However even if you do have bad
advertising about your business its still good advertising since its truly up to the buyer/customer to make their decisions to by from you or not.
Enjoy the freebie ads, laugh about it.
Ebay Customer Service POV. (i have a buddy that works for Ebay CSR right here in Burnaby, BC, Canada ... he's on my facebook.)
He says they cant do much. You can issue feedback which we have all done, however unless we buy the product and its not what is advertised we cant do
much. He is stating its a Kite, and the description matches the HQ kite pictures so in their stupid eyes Ebay doesnt know any better. Ebay isnt going
to buyer to prove what he is selling matches the description, nor does he have to. He is following the rules of ebay by only selling whats on the
allowed list. Sure it overpriced but its a buyers market. for the counterfeit Revs, its actually up to Revolution to file a lawsuit. Lastly he rep on
ebay isnt bad, there are happy customers so they will not do much.
oh well. damn you cousins in china for making a whole province of kite factories. IMO all brands should move their kite manufacturing into paraglider
factories in Sri Lanka.

ebay seller jonesband1998 posting false information
Add another store to his list. Apparently now he bought all his defective kites from IAB (which, by the way, doesn't sell power kites or buggies). I
have contacted jonesband1998 and tried to reason with him, but it's clear that he's bound and determined to do
anything - including posting false info on ebay listings - to vent his frustration over comments made about him on this forum.
I have no knowledge of this person nor do I have any opinion about him or his products. In fact he may be a really good source for printer ink (his
staple product), but considering the false info he has been posting, I highly recommend using caution buying kites from this ebay seller. jonesband1998 is clearly using his ebay listings for the purpose of posting false information about this forum and other kite stores that he feels are supporting this forum. Let me
be clear (again), the PKF is not and never has been supported or sponsored by any kite store or manufacturer.
Well, this too like so many other silly situations will fade away and the PKF will still be here providing kite fliers a place to support one another
and expose deceptive ebay sellers .

Bravo and thank you PKF for your measured, professional and comprehensive response. At least now, anyone that Googles the seller or his products will
get quite an eyeful of reading material. Gotta love the democratic web. Those that abuse their right to free speech will be smited.

Interesting, my friend could not even mention a famous guitar brand in reference to an historic copy guitar he was trying to sell on eBay. Revolution,
and the other kite sport makers, only have to make their case to eBay.

I had an almost identical situation with an eBay vendor a while back. I bought what was supposed to be a complete design for an industrial mechanism.
I happen to work as a software designer in this industry, so I know a bit about it. What I received from the vendor were cursory designs the vendor
had found by searching Google and then burned onto a CD (not complete designs, basically the same as you'd find in a product brochure). The work was
not his own and he didn't have permission to distribute it. He also included Microsoft Word files for his business cards and letterhead(?) on the CD.
I wrote the vendor asking for a refund and he agreed. The materials were delivered over the internet so I agreed to delete it off my computer.
Instead of giving me a refund he filed a "did not pay for item" complaint with eBay and demanded I pay a second time. Fortunately I paid with PayPal
and that matter was dropped, but his "reverse complaint" tactic clouded the issue sufficiently that eBay was busy persuing me instead of him. I wrote
a letter to eBay informing them that this vendor was illegally selling material that was copyright protected. I also told them that he had promised
me a refund but instead demanded I pay a second time. They did nothing. I never got a refund and the vendor continues to sell his illegal materials
on eBay to this day. But the story doesn't end there. This same fellow (he lives in BC, Canada BTW) also went on some public forums and slandered
both me and my company, claiming he was a customer of ours (which he was not) and that our products were crap (which customers in 14 countries would
argue to the contrary). He also stole artwork we commissioned and hold copyrights for and is using them on his website.
Yes, I'm hoping karma catches up with this guy also and bites him in the butt.

@Bladerunner - Ha! I believe he is. To be honest, I hadn't given the case much thought since it all happened a year or so ago. The fact of life is
that someone like this can pretty much operate at will, unimpeded, unless you're willing to plunk down the change for an attorney to stop him. We
always have that as a future option. Maybe wait until he wins a lottery, and then nail him with a multi-million $$ defamation and copyright
infringement lawsuit.

Thanks for clearing things up PKF.
I think Jonesband 1998 is going to go be even more frustrated when hes sees his smear campaign hasn't slowed down any of the good advice + gear that
moves through this ( non commercial ) site. His whole campaign is little more than entertainment to us. Really the only one who looks stupid in this
is Jonesy himself!
The people who shop at the shops that He has it in for do so because they KNOW they will get good treatment. The beginers who come here have found a
good place and I think will listen to us even if we are on Joneband 1998's rotating smear !
I am put off enough by Ebay that I believe I will sell my stocks in the company.
