Still love these the most in the buggy. I'm still pretty nervous on the rare occasion the wind allows me to use the 2.5.
You'll love the 2.5 in crazy winds. I have to admit that sometimes I'm nervous too when the wind is cranking, however after I get rolling the nerves
disappear. Its just that much fun and confidence inspiring.
The 1.5 is a hoot too. In fact some of my best buggy sessions have been with the 1.5.

Thanks Iain, I hope I get some 2.5 wind soon. I've only had the wind and time once so far in the buggy. I've used it several times with the
longboard. Yesterday and today are 2.5 wind days but work is interfering. Are you all healed yet?
Spencer. I must have misunderstood your question. I thought you were asking about the knots for attaching the kite's third line to the bar's center
line. If so, yes, I have different knots at different lengths. As far as the cam cleat adjustment, you want just enough to kill the kite, but not turn
inside out. I don't move that either. Although I probably should. I haven't had a bad bowl of spaghetti yet, but I'm sure its coming.

Most use the 3 line depower bar with long lines because it comes with a harness loop and quick release. I use this bar for buggy. I use the streetkite
bar for short lines and longboard because I don't need to hook in. You can use the 3 line depower bar for long or short lines but the street kite bar
is only recommended for use up to 10 meter lines. Don't know why but that's what Steffen told me. The street kite bar is cheaper and cleaner without
the harness loop if you don't plan on hooking in and your using it for short lines. Best I can tell, the harness loop is permenanlty attached to the
depower mechanism on the depower bar so you can't remove it. I just bent my street kite bar in half today in high winds and using it in the buggy.
Steffen will probably replace it for free but I'm going to use my DIY woody in the meantime. Works just as good.

Unfortunately I have that bowl of spaghetti lots of times. I know I said this kite handles great but its not for me. I like flying my kites on handles
but not on the NASA 3. When its up its good. Problem arrives trying to land it and keep it down on handles. It twirls and flutters to the point of
ending up in a bad bowl of spaghetti. I have tried different ways to attach the power/brake lines with and without the Z bridle and no luck, so I sold
it. A friend of mine bought the NASA 3 and he uses the bar. It fly great on the bar. When it comes down he pulls the centre line and it stays down.
The NASA 3 in my opinion is designed for a bar and not handles. I had high hopes for the NASA and it was not to be. :dunno:

They have done a little landboarding at Piedmont park. He has a bunch of landboards, control bars, helmuts, etc and I think he still has a big
Beamer, but not sure. They probably sell a lot more single line stuff though. He mentioned a place called Arabia Mtn - but i don't know if that is
just for static flying or what. The also have some stunt kites (HQ Mojo). They have a lot of stuff there.
Arabia Mountain is in Conyers. I know where that is! I got my start flying kites there with my family when I was 3. I don't think there is any room
there for power kiting, but it is amazing for stunt kites and single liners. I have lost a kite in Dekalb from the top of Arabia Mountain, lol.

Leg is healing well. I'm not supposed to put shock loads on it (e.g. jump) until July, so I'm hesitant to get in the buggy until then just in case I
get an OBE, which is unlikely if I fly my ns2s or FBs with my AQR.

Bummer Dan. Do you fly mainly static? They are not particularly exciting until moving with them. All hope's not lost, maybe you will find another
kite or kite accessory to buy from the proceeds.

I fly mainly static and I enjoy it for the exercise. I can't do depower as they don't make a harness in my size ...
I would like to buggy but that's not practical right now as there is nothing close by and I need to be close to the house as my wife is not well. I'm
still looking for the largest FB kite I can fly in low winds.

:D largest fb for light winds, anything bigger than 12m and you'd struggle static flying in 3-5mph wind. My 12m flies when you can just feel the wind
on your neck, by 6mph you'll be scudding.... or running like Forest Gump :D

Hey Ralph, there are some larger harness options for you. I know a buddy in Kitchener had one of the companies do up a custom one for him (I think it
was Dakine). The PL Divine harness comes in a very large size but they are geared more to sitting down and you would probably want a little different
shape to the harness.
If you are looking for a large f.b. let me know what size you are looking for. i sold my 10.8 Reactor but there are a lot of options laying around
here for you - the new Cross kites Sonic fly nice with a lot of speed and I have a few of those and other foils if you ever want to try. Not exactly
on your doorstep but i'm not too far away and you are always welcome to fly anything I have.

That's pretty cool Mark... I knew they were using single skin kites, but I thought they were Peter Lynn's Skin prototypes... Those are definitely NASA

In other news I flew the 7m today for the first time... Bad idea in today's wind... Forecast was for 10 mph, but it was more like 15 mph gusting over
20 with ... It was a little nerve racking. I survived but man was it a pain trying to set up in the gusty hank... Shoulda known better. Thank goodness
for the Depow :o
In other other news ... Only 10 more days til JIBE (14 for me)... WUHOOOOO!!!
Spencer I have been side launching them. I just put a single weight on the upwind tip that I partially fold. That way it just stays flagged out as you
attach lines. I always stick the flying line ends in my mouth that way I have 2 hands free to undo the transport loop then connect the lines. So
beware if you see any of my stars for sale that there is plenty of spit on the line ends.
Dang, I need to get my 10 meter ordered as soon as I have the cash!
Your welcome Spencer, I'm sure there are many ways to set up, but that's the fastest I've come up with. Still not as fast as fb with lines attached
but I find the fun I have with them pays off in spades.

Wow, great lunchtime static session, perfect for the 7m... wind was right around 10mph gusting up into the mid teens... I cam in to work early to make
for extra lunch time and I was really able to spend my time getting to play around. I got REALLY use to flying one-handed and loooove that!... Man
these things are stable. I was even able to pull out the Iphone and snap a pic... its hard to do one handed pics though with the new big-A iPhones
though... I still had my phone out and a gust hit, but I was able to keep it in check with one hand
Also found that for me the best way to unpack and pack is to lay it on its back with the nose pointed into the wind... with a knee on the nose, I hook
everything up then when I pull it back it ends up upside-down and I can reverse launch... I just nosedive into the ground where ever I want to pack up
and do it all in reverse... worked GREAT today!
For initial setup, I do pretty much like a standard foil. Only exception is I use a couple water bottles to weight down the trailing edge until
liftoff. A couple yanks and up she goes. For changing kites and pack up, I fly it to the edge of the window, and tip the bar like Steffan. Stake it
down, and it will sit right there on its side bouncing a little. I then put a knee on the upwind tip. Untie the down wind tip, then the center, then
the upwind tip. I can then roll the kite up in a snap. Or change a kite size and re tie in the reverse order. The bar and stake never move. The new
kite will then bounce on the edge while you return to your bar for centerline adjustment and re launch. Cant wait to stretch their wings at JIBE!
