Pass the Peter Lynn Core 5.1m
Hey gang.
I still think that the Core is an under-exposed kite and would like to get it out there for some people to try and comment on. I'm willing to pass a
5.1 to those known here and qualified.
The Core is a high end, high performance all-around kite, good for buggy, landboard or recreational static flying. It is member of the Peter Lynn
Pro Range of kites, so the build quality is up there with the Reactor and soon-to-arrive Vapor.
Regular rules. I pay shipping to the first participant and they pay shipping and insurance of of $300 to the next. The first participant rigs the
kite. It does not come with Kite killers but I will toss some in.
In addition to address, I'll need phone number and e-mail
Here are the participants..

2) Lunchbox CA
3) Stetson05 WA
4) WillardTheGrey OR
5) DgKid78 MA

Hi Angus,
I'd be interested in trying the Core. I'm expecting a Twister II from Dino today or tomorrow but if you can put me in line after it traverses that
part of the country and makes it's way to the West Coast, that would be great.
With the Reactor II, Pepper II, Vapor, Hornet, etc. I was curious to know where this kite sits in the mix. It almost seems like they have to many
kites that are designed for the same thing...I've heard it's got it's special place, but it will be nice to fly it and find out for myself.
Thanks.

The Core is a pretty impressive kite. Our local Peter Lynn team rider LOVES the core. He prefers it over all the others for freestyle riding because
of it's smooth and continuous grunt force, pop and superb stability. It also has some pretty impressive speed out here on the dry lake beds. I fly
the Core myself and it is a super sweet kite.

basically there is a kite available for everyone. no two kites are the same, and each do something different over the other. on a price put of view,
most newer riders wouldnt care about quality or the material used in their bridle lines or the weight of the fabric per sq. meter, etc ... so the
Access Range fits the bill. For the diehards, the Pro Range is your ticket to fun, speed, and performace. But can justify the extra cost of quality in
materials. No, they dont come from the same factory. =)
pepper II is discontinued, the Hornet is the beginner foil
Access Range:
Hornet (newbie) - more improvements on the Hornet II to make it even better,
Twister II (freestyle, jumper),
Viper (cruiser)
Pro Range: Core (replaces the Reactor I), hence the limited size range.
Reactor II is your advanced racey kite, so if you want the best of both worlds, speed + stablity, this would be your kite. its great for gust
conditions as well (remember Nabx).
2.2m, 2.8m, 3.5m, 4.4m, 5.5m, 6.9m, 8.6m & 10.8m
Vapors are still being worked on, 12 sizes in total. Michel and the Dutch Team are improving it all the time. The Teamrider ones are going into
production very soon. yeah, we get to be guinea pigs. look for my Pink Vapors.

But size for size the Core is going to be liftier than the Reactor, I'm pretty sure.

Excellent information Ricardo...Thanks!
Since I actually love my Reactor I's, I can just imagine how good the Core and Reactor II's are going to be...
...kinda bummed that I have to wait for the Vapors...but I'm sure the end product will be worth it.
Pink Vapors...huh...What the hell, I'd fly it...good to get in touch with my feminine side every once in a while :wink2:

Hi Kent (and others Core users),
I have a 3.8 Reactor (flown in low to upper, and beyond, wind range) and have tried Wolfies 4.9 Reactor in (lower to decent wind).
How would you say a Core compares to the Reactor?. I find my (smaller) 3.8m Reactor handles very crisp and pulls smooth and super fast. I can't recall
the handling of Wolfie's 4.9m as I did not spend too much time with it. I do realize the larger a kite is the less responsive they are (generally). I
can't recall if the Core belongs to the breed of FBs that change AR as according to size. for buggying (inland, tigh quarter, grass feilds)
would/should one choose a Core over the Reactor? I guess so if the Core is not as fast and will have slight more stabiltiy? I do appreciate the
scrisp handling/maneuverabilty of the Reactor in tight quarters. I'd be looking at a 7-ish meter.
i have macboy's 7m Ace but it is a bit too sluggish for tight quarters. I'll have to spend some more time with the 7m Blurr vs Ace.
Also, now that i mention it, how would a 7m-ish Core compare to a Blurr?
If I get on the list I will compare 5.1m Core to my 5m Blurr.
thanks,

For fixed bridle use, my 7m Blurr is my most often used kite. It is very intuitive and stable with a smooth power up. My second most used fb kite is
my 4.9 Reactor. It is tuned for performance and can luff in funky winds, but 90% of the time, I can shake it out and be running before it hits the
ground. It would be a tough call to choose between the reactor or blurr for a buggy kite. Now you really have to put the core in that contest. I
borrowed pokitetrash's 5m Blurr when I went to the beach and flew it for awhile but the low winds had me underpowered. That kept me from trying it
back to back against the Reactor. Lift does keep coming up when people describe the Core. If that is only at the top of the wind range, I can deal
with that, but I sold a Blade IV and Crossfire II because they wanted me to part ways with my buggy seat. Lets see how much lift stays in the
conversation.

if you the RI riders, there is no point in going back to a Core. buy the RII you'll be happy that you did.
i was talking with michel dekker last night. i would compare the Core to: flexi blurr, u-turn oxigen III, pkd brooza III, libre vampir2

i figured the reason PL included 'freestylers' in marketing the Core was because the Core was more lifty than PLs other Pro range FB.
no biggie, plenty other apples on the tree.

i like it... It really is a good kite, but im not its demographic... Atb rider hungry for air, is not this kite. The design of the kite is amazing,
the build quality is ridiculous, and it was a joy to fly, but where im at, and where i want to go in this sport, it doesnt fit. There are some people
that will love every single aspect of this kite, and find absolutely no problems with it. Its like a race kite isnt for some people, blades arent for
some, heck, giant arcs may not be for some... I recognize the quality and potential of the core, it just doesnt do what i want to do right
now... But at the very least... It was a crazy good time flying it

I haven't had a chance to fly it yet
But...I have got my kites packed up in the car and I'm ready to go after work. My fear is that it will be too light but I might still try to fly her
just to see how she handles. If that does not pan out, I'm gonna try to skip out to the beach for a few hours this weekend. Forecast looks decent!

I've been flying the PL Core 3m for about a week now. Static and once, so far, in a buggy. It rocks as a buggy engine. Yesterday I was flying it, and
a 3m Ozone Flow head to head in the buggy. I was going much faster with the Core. Better upwind performance too. Lots of park and ride, very easy
going fast. The kite easily stayed ahead of me, I didn't outrun it. It wanted to fly faster and faster, awesome! I was riding on two wheels at one
point! It was a total blast. To be fair, yesterday was the first time I had flown the Flow.
I know I don't qualify for the pass around. Plus, summer here would likely be over before it arrived anyway. I'm thinking of buying a larger sized
Core, it's so good. My dad just ordered a 5.5m YakuzaGt. When he receives it, I would love to fly the 5.1m Core against the YakuzaGT!
I've been lurking about a month. This post is my first. The Core is no doubt a fantastic buggy engine!
