Kite for beginner

Hello-
I’m looking to purchase my 1st kite! I’ve been doing some research and found that the kites listed below are a good start for a beginner.

3 Line Trainer Rush 3m
PRO Ozone Imp 3.5M Trainer

What do you think of these choices?

I’m open to all suggestions please. My budget is around $250 and eventually I would like to get into kite surfing.
Thanks again.

i see no one has answered,so i'll put my 2 cents forth.......i think they both would good-i think they both come w a bar,so that might be good training for when you get a depower kite for surfing....but ive never flown these,so im not really sure--beamers are good--

That was his thread.

Those are 3-line kites. For $250 you can go 4-line, which is where you will be eventually anyway.

Probably the single most recommended kite for first timers. 3 meters is perfect. Others, in no particular order

What I'm a bit confused about is that certain other sites recommend to learn on a two line+bar if you are taking the kite surfing route. Would this be accurate or it will not matter, since 4 lines will teach me how to control the kite better? Or when I transition from a 4 line to a 2 line would be easier to handle or control.

Sorry for so many questions. Just want to make sure I'm getting the right think.

Thanks for your patience.

I don't see you transitioning to a 2 line kite. Ever. Your kite skills will be learned on the Beamer you are thinking about. Learn to fly it with your eyes closed and you will be days ahead at your kiteboarding lessons and able to think more about the board and the water.

No Worries. Questions are good.
That recommendation is probably because most kiteboarding schools use a simple two line trainer on a bar. They are inexpensive and do the basic job of teaching basic kite flight dynamics and the navigation of the wind window, but are otherwise not too exciting. They are not always easily re-launchable without assistance if/ when you crash (or you interrupt your session to sort the kite out yourself, then relaunch). The bar used is not a de-power bar, but more closely mimics the behavior of a true depower bar than handles do.

Any of the above mentioned kites can be fitted with a bar, and the Flow and Sting are available with a bar as an option instead of handles. You just give up a little finesse in control.

Your three-line kites like the Rush Pro and Hydra offer the simplicity and economy of three lines but the utility of the third line of un-assisted relaunch from a nose-down crash. The Hydra is notable because it is inflatable and therefore water-relaunchable. You can start to basci body drag with it, which is another step in the kitboarding curriculum.

Four lines and handles simply allow more control and the finesse needed in light winds.

Thanks all! Beamer IV 3m it is.

If you know of anyone selling a used one or of a good reputable online retailer just send me a U2U.

I look forward to tell you some of my first outings, when I get my new kite. :wee::wee:

Thanks again.
