The Speed 3 is making its competition debut at the PKRA this weekend at Sankt Peter Ording in Nth Germany.

http://www.prokitetour.com/event.php?id=78

They first started development of this kite almost 2 years ago, it had a lot to live up to after the Speed 2 success, it is so close now, the revamp in aesthetics IMO looks really cool, its high aspect has more float (still can't get my head around that) and faster turning speed than the Speed 2 per size, its going to take land freestyle to the next level, let alone what will be done on the water. In testing the specs/performance were impressive & FS are stoked with the result.

Sizes will be the 19-15-12, no smaller sizes are on the horizon in the Speed 3.

The infinity bar will be shipped standard with both serial & deluxe editions.

If you were holding out for a Speed 3 (in a smaller size 10,8) suggest Speed 2, I love my Speed 2's and have just picked up a smaller one for that reason.

When I get more information I will pass it on.

Thanks
Luke

Prices for the Speed 3 Deluxe will be the same as the current Speed 2 Deluxe. :)

The cost always gets brought up in forums & by people I fly with, before I started flying for Flysurfer I was buying my own kites, I agree your finances can take a hit but to put it in perspective.

Resale value on FS kites is high, they retain their value, what is a two year old inflato worth on the second hand market?

Delivery will start as planed in September. Serial and Deluxe at the same time. Size 19.0 and 15.0 will be shipped first.

Testing an older Speed3 19.0 deluxe proto, bridals hooked straight onto the bar (no flying lines) trying to loop it

Ha ha, sorry man, been flat chat with work and Flysurfer stuff.

Your in WA? About 4000km to far.

We should be getting the Speed 3 in Aus in a few weeks.

An update also.

The 12m has been finalised and is going into production.

FS are working hard to fill pre-orders of the Speed 3 15-19 currently there has been plenty of demand for them.

Here is a few short vids that have started to surface, there will be more shortly.

A trailer from Flysurfer Innovation days a few weeks ago from Lake Como Italy

A 19m S3 Deluxe from an independent flyer.

Some pictures from Marman from a session yesterday, I believe he shot some video also which will make its way to the forums soon.

Some new images from Marman.

"The forcast was looking too good to miss tonight, I left work slightly early and met up with Greg Chilton for a session on the new 15m Deluxe"

He is looking for an estimate on prices. I have been told they are running for the same price as the Speed2s cost brand new.

I should really travel more, could be fun one time... Well Italy was great for the Flysurfer Innovation Days...

And getting a place to do some land boarding... in between seasons. We basically have no room here except for water and snow.... but still good...

Do you have a link to the event?

But it sure is nice to kite close to home to... Spoiled with 5 minutes...

This vid shows a closer look and up the main vent...

so I'd really like to know. now that its out. did it lose its low end and power in the turns?

the P4 did vs the P3

S3 has the same tech as the P4 so whats the verdict?

So far I still have the
SP 2.5 DE 19m
and the
SP 3 19 DE

The SP3 is not everything the SP2 was and more. It's a different kite and has it's own pros. So they make it better in the way that more people will like it and enjoy it.

And can ride either... I've always chosen the 3 for over all fun factor, faster turning, more depower, stiffer bridles, less tangles and so on...
If you are used to the SP2 some may have to ride the 3 for hours to really feel the full fun factor benefits. Or even several sessions.

You know how we kiters can get used to our kites and not like change... Hey, I could even go back on the SP2 19m and get another check going back... SP2 to 3 to 2...
I sometimes have to remind myself to keep open minded... if I wasn't I never would have gotten a 19m...

The Speed 3 is much more forgiving as well for beginners, less overfly, better relaunch (for me too) and for unhooked tricks as well. Easier to keep from going LE down when the wing tip hits the water...

Same low end... Tested with a local kiter myself... We were always matched pretty even on out SP2 19's... The only way to compare is directly with another SP2 in the same wind and place and even switching would be best... That's what Armin at FS did... with good riders... No use to guess compared to another session you may have had. I want to go low as I can go on a Flydoor XL or Spleene 164.

Like C kites to SLE to bow to Pu2 Ps4 to SP2 to 3 every one can have their personal choice... We try stuff as usual and see how we feel about it...
Very different feel than P4 even with triple depower... no backstall...

But enough for me to order an SP3 12 after flying the 19m SP3... I ride in the light stuff and lit on the 19m at times... so high end is good to have...

Can't wait to do kite loops on 12m... see what happens... and if DE 12 2.45lbs less than Serial... Curious...... There always the next kite to get excited about... Seems to never stop..
