Aerial Transistions (<-- that how it's spelled?)

Ever since i finally learned the board grab last week. I been trying other stuff from watching the Progression DVD. Like the Ariel Trans. So far i only landed it once and not perfect. Gotta get use to keep balance in the air and moving in the opposite direction. Keep eating dirt. and Now have a huge welt on my face from face planting quite a few times :wee:
Talked through out the day to bunch of people. Only when i went to my car and looked in rear view mirror did i notice my face was completly black with dirt and grass stains LMAO i never knew it was that dirty haha so embarressed after talking to like 5 people. Nobody ever mentioned nothing?? And it was probably really obvious. i had a white t shirt and a white helmet on :ninja:

transition. At least I can spell it. Don't know squat about doing one though. I'm usually better at things where I stay planted on the ground.

I hit my first aerial transition by accident the first time when I didn't redirect while jumping and just followed the kite around, landing toeside. Very cool! Get your heel to toeside jibes going and then the aerial becomes easy if you're already jumping.

Mood: chilled....but ready to SAIL!

set up like going into a jump ( just enough not to hot) all the same stuff applies

you go up and redirect (back hand pull, which becomes your NEW front hand) AND LOOK! IN THE NEW DIRECTION. IN FLIGHT YOU'LL BE GOING DOWN WIND and land pointing that way or be prepared to slide it out

depending on speed kite may need to be pulled back up

on the set up a well controlled slightly up wind line makes it easier go slow at first the drop on the landing can be fast like landing a jump, its the same with a slight powerslide feel on the finish.

at first point of sail orientation can get out of wack with too much carving up wind you be pulled over backwards.

try to stay with crosswind rides so when you redirect and look you get the feel and orientation with out worrying about it, because you know the general direction of things. heel to heel then do a switch for toeside landings. hips flexed, knees up, keep the board close, stay balanced . don't get squirmy or twisty.

when you r doing it think.... JUMP pause and LOOK ( and without thinking you'll redirect as soon as you head turns) promise

Thanks for the advice Phree. Now all I need is wind. Went out today just for cruising winds were only 9mph to 11mph.

You got it right I was all squirmy in the air with kite redirecting really hard and getting launched downwind without board prepared.
More like an OH CRAP! In mid air lol
