"Pass The Gear" forum

How about adding to the classifieds section with a "Pass The Gear" forum with a (blatant ripoff of DAKITEZ idea) "Passing rules & guidelines/Good passers" sticky? That way all these Pass threads could be consolidated.

Dakitze did not start the pass program but has been supportive! Was it B-roc and pass the pansh ? Pablo was second man in . I think we can thank both. One for getting it started and the other for backing up the great idea.

Thanks to everyone who has added to the pass program. I think it's a win, win. Even more so for people who don't get to try many different kites.

While it is a great thing I doubt the Mod. will want a seperate forum for it. Encouraging this could somehow make PKF liable in this wacko world.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Willard is giving Dino credit for the good citizens list idea for participants in any of the "pass the kite" programs. I think the "pass the kite" programs have been going on for a long time here.

Most definitely this has been done way before me on this forum and others. I simply think it is a good idea and am trying to do my part to keep it alive. As long as everything goes well it is a win / win for everyone. Its a win for the consumer to get to try the kite before they buy one. Also it gets reviews posted for the kites which helps the manufacturers. And if most people like the kites and the reviews say the kite is good then it will ultimately help me make sales.
I would like to thank PKF for allowing us to use their forum to promote and keep track of this "pass the" program.

Bob nailed it I didn't know who had the passing idea first but DAKITEZ just posted an idea about a good passers list similar to the good sellers list.

Pass the kite was not started by me.

The good traders sticky was my idea (well an idea I brought over from my time on the GWTW forum).

Sorry B-Roc,

For some crazy reason I get you and Davinch mixed up.
My next guess is that is was Davinch that starte the pass ?

No matter who started it, it's a great thing for all involved!

I had Davinch's Pansh ace which was the first pass I was aware of.

there's been no abuse of pass the kite I've been aware of, nor much trouble with "bad passers".

i think a reason for this is the informality of the program, and another reason is that we all know each other to some degree, if only online, and don't want to muck this lovely community up.

making it formal to some degree by giving it its own thread might be cool, but dakitez raised a valid point way in the beginning of this thread....

my vote's to leave it the way it is...

fixed bridles, flying static, been two years now... ??? folks must be wondering....

sting 1.7, dp power 2.5, crossfire 3.2, ace 5, blade iv 6.5, ace 8, ace 12...

also a couple of arcs, 12 syn and 12 phanny, but i\'m not yet up to speed on them.

The handles that never came home.

But thats the only one that I know of.

Maybe an invite only forum, but then thats getting too complicated and the kites wouldn't get the exposure that they do now.

We're very happy to have the 'pass the...' program on this forum, but as it is a peer-to-peer program, I don't think we should muck it up with a bunch of regulations. As the PKF cannot be responsible for the quality or results of this program, we cannot officially sanction it. Therefore, I believe it is best left in the Kites and Accessories forum.

If someone would like to view a list of related threads, use the search page and search for "pass the" in the Kites and Accessories forum.

I had good luck with the items I passed - first the 5m Pansh Ace, then a 4.9m Blade IV, a MBS Comp 90 Mountainboard and finally a 16" Dirtsurfer.

Overall, the program works great if there is good communication and things keep moving to new people
