Hi all

I am interested in getting into ATB boarding. Which do people prefer/recommend when kite barding? I have seen a few videos from the net and see that most people use bars.

Kite ATB is closely related to Kitesurfing and therefore a bar is commonly preferred. Additionally, the types of kites flown with bars tend to work best for ATB (and snowboarding).

My pref:
Bar - surf, snowboard, ATB
Handles - skate, buggy, ski

Dude, it's all about personal preference. I use nothing but handles, even though I have a couple of bars, but that's because I'm used to it. I recommend trying both, before becoming committed to one or the other. Have fun and good times.

Thanx for the replies. I have taken the plunge and got a deal on a Kheo air-s board, and am thinking about a blade for a second kite, second hand from ebay. That will give me a good starting point I think, to learn the basics, and get moving (and falling :duh

I will let you all know how it goes.
By the way, I met a few kitelandboarders and the local grass park, and one fella proceeded to get out a huge 18m Peter Lynn kite...depowerable kites look the way forward!
