Lost Orange Tophat Safety Release at Wildcat Beach
I lost the orange/red plastic tophat shaped safety release for my Peter Lynn control bar today. I deployed my safety on the water out past the
sandbar, and when I reeled my kite back in, the piece was missing. I need this to be able to connect the chicken loop to the depower strap! I was at
Wildcat in Corpus Christi / Portland TX.

Attached is a picture of the safety pull. I doubt anyone will find it but it would save me $50 from buying a new chicken loop/line setup.

Angus (at Coastal Wind Sports) is checking if you can get the Top Hat by itself.
No promises but thought it would be worth asking about.

I wrote the PL folk but they are gone for the day in the Netherlands. I will likely here in the morning. I f I know I can replace just the top-hat
only, I can send you one right away from one of my stock rigs...
This is the 2nd time I have heard of this happening on the water. The top-hat is supposed to stay captive, but if the mechanism is twisted in just
the right way...
I agree that it is tough to shell out $42 to get the top-hat with other gear that you do not necessarily need.

I'll be able to replace this one and get more to have on hand in my next order from Peter Lynn. They have them loose but just not listed. Same with
other misc. bar parts- I can get most beyond the standard spares listed.
