I'm grieving... It's a process. Will my kite come back to normal?

Hi,
It's a sad day... yesterday my first kite, 12 days old (!!) ... got chewed by two F*** dogs....
It as as a 5 cm hole now... do you think that if I have it repeared will fly as normal???
It is a Ozone IMP quattro 3.5.

... I'm grieving today... it's a process...

If you have it professionally repaired, it will fly as good as new. Where is the damage, you may be able to fix it yourself with proper tapes or sail repair glues.

Spinnaker tape will do the trick for sure.

http://www.kitefix.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=...

or go to a marine store and ask for it. Kitefix tape is just marine spinnaker tape re-packaged.

Much larger than 5cm and you will want to add some stitches over the tape. Here in the 'States we have....

http://www.fixmykite.com/

In Europe, Google around for kite repair.

It will fly good as new.

A dog put a 6inch rip on a wingtip of my 6.5m Blade IV and I repaired it with sailtape on both sides of the rip. It flies just fine

I've got a couple of little 2" rips in the wingtips of my 5m ace, guess I'll fix them sometime, but in the meantime it flies just fine... I take better care of my better kites, but I've had to fix a coupe minor rips.

5 cm sounds minor, really, even if it is a ragged hole over over a rib very careful sailtape job can fix it fine. 5" might be possible to fix with sailtape, but then you'll need to take care with it and check it lots. Any bigger than 6" yes you'll need stitching.

fixed bridles, flying static, been two years now... ??? folks must be wondering....

sting 1.7, dp power 2.5, crossfire 3.2, ace 5, blade iv 6.5, ace 8, ace 12...

also a couple of arcs, 12 syn and 12 phanny, but i\'m not yet up to speed on them.

two words... pepper spray!! (loose/wild dog of course)
There are way to many nasty dogs around here... lots of pitbulls! Strays around here are really bad news... especially if they are near my kites!!!

I would send it off for repair... and have the dog's owner pay for it! That would make me sooooo mad!

Unfortunately I checked the kite after the attack and I didn't see the scratch.. when I launched it and noticed it the owner was long gone :( :(
And now maybe I will have to stay 2 weeks without flying!!! :(

Any way...
