i think for a taller, heavier rider, the 106 patrol has benefits of a professional tool and still light for its utility. had 3 really nice
sessions with side shore wind, so a ton of trans, jumps and switches. the bindings are top self and have worked even for quick hop outs. even
though they are dressy for me i'm good with it

I have 2 106 Patrols, the new one (blue) with the cross airs is great. The old one, I'll never put down, pretty awesome!
When I met the GI guys in Orlando, I could tell the future of boarding with kites looked bright, now and then I get an itch to bomb a hill, now I
dream of Higher Ground all the time!
Wonder if we could kite it!

i haven't broken any. the vegas hubs that came with it didn't seem right , the hub/rim connection point had a fraction of play after about 10-15
hours. i contacted GI and they replaced them cat quick. looks to be a defective run of parts??maybe,, BUT NOT ALL are affected . GI was totally
cool with it. there junk comes with a 3 year warranty. thats heavy! they want you to use there stuff. i could see them breaking if not replaced
though. i'll drop the news on the replacements when in hand. and then into the mill they go.
if i loose a session because of weak junk...you'll hear about it

i think i remember hearing something about a flaw in the first batch of cross-airs ever made, but that was a long time ago... mine are old cross airs,
and ive had no issues on some VERY long rides, and some hard knocks, too

The original Vegas hubs did have an issue with breakage. That issue has been long resolved and the new hubs are awesome. It would be very rare that
you would ever get some of the original Vegas Hubs as GI went through great efforts to make sure they were all returned and replaced (obviously at no
charge to the shops or end users). GI has awesome customer support and backs up their products. Being a U.S. Based company - you can get anything
you need within a couple days.....that is if you ever need anything. Their boards rock!
Think these guys aren't serious about boards? Well, they just recently opened a totally radical mountain board park at their brand new facility -
complete with chair lift. Check out the home page -> http://www.groundindustries.com/ (check out the slide show of all the images) Nothing like having your very own playland in your back yard!
Makes me want to go to South Carolina and give it a run!

The cross airs are rock solid. I've heard (even from loyal MBS riders) that you can't beat em. I have vegas hubs on my Flight Lite and haven't had
any issues. Can't wait to try the Terraintulas though when GI delivers the goods.

Some Kiter here in germany complain about the Hubs and Axles.
For Example Alexander in this threath http://surfforum.oase.com/showthread.php?t=75325&highlig...
This started in 2007
writes that he bought the Flight Lite, went Kiting and broke two hubs after 10 minutes, and the axles were very loose. He sent it in, and had to wait
months for a replacement.
Similar thing happened to the replacement and then to the replacement of the replacement.
Then after he sent it in they told him that they have problems to deliver, and now he waits since 2 years on a replacement.
Some of our german dealers removed GI out of their program for reasons like this.
More people add in this threath that they have big quality problems, one with the patrol 106 from 2008., one with conflict 105...
I hope their 2009 series will be good, because their boards are great, if they would not brake all the time... ;-)

I'm not sure about quality, but I had heard in the past that they had problems with actually getting products stocked and available to dealers. And
warranty returns and parts took forever to come through. It sounds like maybe they have gotten their supply chain issues worked out though and I've
read mostly good things about quality and customer service on this forum.
Don't think I'll be trying one out for a while though since my Pro 6 looks like it will last for a very long time.
