OK guys whats out there for 2 meter kites??? Needs to be quad line.

I am just checking things out while SkyCountry looks into making the 2 meter.....winds here yesterday where to much for the 3 meter static [well as a family flying day] and the 1.2m Rhombus was not enough to make it exciting.

you can go two ways with 2m kites -- slow and stable and safe or fast and quick and lethal, though the more wind you add the fuzzier the line between the two becomes. something like a peter lynn hornet or a pansh legend or an HQ beamer on the slow side, and something like a pansh ace or a PKD century (more stable, just as powerful) on the fast side.

in general, the smaller the kite the more stable and slow you want it to be because it will be moving pretty quick anyways. however, flying a small fast kite hard in big winds requires about as much skill as anything else in kiting, and because of the fast and hence dangerous aspect ("widowmaker"?) the little killers can be very exciting to fly.

think bee / squirrel / hummingbird / whatever on crack and you'll get the picture. the quick small kites can be very hard to stay on top of.

Just want something my wife and 12 year old daughter can fly. I'm more then happy to wrestle my 3 meter and bigger ...lol

as long as you're not powered up, any decent 2m is fine, yeah, even smaller can be good for wife / kids if the winds get up a lot where you are.

and wrestling a 2m can be like playing russian roulette, things can happen really quick, it's a good thing to avoid.

Got spanked hard by my 2.5 last year. Like furbs said, the little stuff is going to be fast and can still produce a lot of pull. Anybody fly a 1.4m beamer? That might be agood choice. I know that my 1.7 sting is quite fast and will scud my 150lb buddy at about 18mph on grass.

look into an Ozone Imp Quattro or a Flow, Very good quality and they need very little wind to fly (For the wife and kids) and for you they are great in really strong winds.

Today I was trying out my 7.2 and my 5 Reflex for the first time, could barely keep them in the air most of the day, but there was another guy flying a 1.5 Imp and a 2.0 Flow and was having a blast. I was very supprised how good they flew in such little wind.

I forgot about the Imps- they are a great kite for the money.

I introduced an Amish family to flying earlier this summer. They ended up with a 2m HQ Beamer IV. I get notes from the Bed and Breakfast we were staying at saying that they fly it all the time. They had a 13 yr old son, and 2 daughters 14 and 18. Neither of the girls were very big. The boy was on the small side too, but could just about crush a rock with his strong hands.

Imp Quattro's are decent. Ozone Little Devil 2.2 if you can find one is awesome beginner kite and nice high wind engine too.

Actually, my son learned to fly a PKD Brooza 2m when he was 8 after only 2 sessions with a Little Devil 1.5, and he even started to ski with it. It's higher performance than the others or a Beamer, but so stable and good in gusts...plus you would love it when it's howlin'
