Kite Specific Snowboards?

Going to concentrate a bit more on the snowboard this winter in hopes it locks in my kiteboarding for me next spring and was wondering if anyone can comment on the kite specific snowboard offerings. Is it really worth it or should I keep cutting my chops with what I have until I've got it down? I guess I wonder if the board I'm using will hinder my progress or not - though technically "right" in terms of minimal side cut etc.

Just answered your other thread regarding Trident sports.

As for my self, I dont like spending 500$ on a snowkite specific board, because I use them in fields or icy lakes where there can be mud, ice spots, little branches, rocks, etc...

I tend to buy 1 board a year and I pay cheap $$ for it like less than 100$.

What I look for is a beginner wide board with minimal side cut (large radius), and flexible enough. I also try to find one almost twin tip, but for < 100 it's impossible. It does the job quite well, and I am not afraid to rip it.

You can easily find these boards during the fall for discounts in your ski shop.

You might find this of interest....

The idea is that it's cheaper when you aren't paying for the fancy graphics and name endorsements.
