had some friends get thrown around a surfside today the wind was so strong. Kinda bummed. friend of mine tore his kite.
I still might go to slp to do some landboarding.

i got some scrapes on my leg, and got into a tricky situation... blown too far downwind... had to navigate through some bad terrain, lots of moss, sharp rocks and rebar... was a little scary

got through okay, and got some really good board time in before that... i checked the forecast when i got home... it was mid 20's.... i was flyin the 15 phantom, i am definitely a believer after today... if it werent for that kite and its famous auto zenith, i could have been in some serious trouble

Sorry didn't get to come out earlier in the day .. had to meet with my line manager this morning about upcoming "restructuring". Nice word for layoffs. I didnt' get out until after 1:30pm. It's funny, I also got myself in a little situation also. I got too far downwind and end up near the rocks. My kite came down and drift towards the rocks and the lines got hang up on it. Went to retrieve the kite and trip over some sharp rocks that wasn't visible. Scrape up my leg. Looks nasty but it was just surface cuts. Wind was about 20-25 when I left around 5pm. I was flying a 7 meter so was perfect. Lots of the guys were flying 9s and 14s.

make sure you clean up any cuts and scraps when your in galvestons water peeps, if you see them starting to get red and infected, you need to get to the ER, tell them you need a marine specific antibiotics shot. expecially if you develope fever and puss around the cuts. you better start speeding to the ER

Thanks for the tip ... mine was a little pink around the cut at first .. got home and washed real good. Got Neosporin on all the kites. I'll keep an eye on it to make sure it is not infected. Not sure what those rocks are formed from but they were razor sharp!! I thought my lines was a gonna.

that was one case... i think the media succeeded in creating some panic around it... i cut myself in the same water the same time that that guy that died did... the high risk is if you are immunodeficient

when its your turn, its just your turn... a little triple antibiotic and some hydrogen peroxide did just fine

more people die on the way to work than get sick in the waters of galveston... water everywhere has hazards....

van, we probably got caught up on the same rocks.... little bastards... they were impossible to see, until i looked closely, the water going over them made some bubbles... last time i was out, i remember being able to see everything... maybe we should get something in the water to mark those things.... in corpus, they mark them with some pvc pipes sticking up

yeah you ae right dylan about the immuneodeficient issue, but thats maybe the one topic im glad the media blew up. We have to face the fact that our ship channel is one sick body of water, even though it might look clean to the naked eye.

That's a good idea about the marker. You're right about not seeing the rocks. I was just standing in the water resting when my kite drifted over to the rocks. I didn't see it until I notice my back lines was snagged on something. It only came out of the water a bout 5 inches, very hard to see from 20 meters away.

theres only a 10% chance of rain at freeport tomorrow, its gonna be a north wind so you can landboard. im pretty sure im going to go around noon if theres clear skys and wind above 10mph. ill post here tomorrow around noon before/if i leave if any one wants to meet up.

I'm heading down to rockport for the weekend. I would love to try some kite buggying if I can get Dylan to sell me his buggy.. :roll: I would love to join you guys once I get a hold of a buggy. For now, I'm stuck on the water.

If i dont have to work heck yeah ill be there. Im leaving right now to go to SLP to do some north NNE landboarding

im gonna try to learn backrolls today.
i can do them with out the board, just tricky learning to swing the weight of the landboard around.
