MBS Atom 95?
Can anyone give me some feedback on this board? I'm shopping for a mountain board for my wife (5'2" and weighs about 110 lbs) who will using it on
sand (mostly hard packed, low tide at the beach). Right now she's borrowing my board but complains that the trucks are too stiff (but I like it that
way). So I want to surprise her with her own board. We don't get many opportunities to landboard here, so I don't want to spend more than $160 for a
board.

Just bought one of these about 2 weeks ago. I've only been able to ride it for about 10 minutes, but I thought it was a blast. Comfy, smooth and
stable. The trucks on mine are fairly loose and it works fine. Its nice becuase when the kite suddenly wants to pull you downwind and you think you're
going to fall forward and faceplant, you can lean downwind and the trucks are loose enough that you don't have to jump to make a quick turn. All in
all good board but like I said, I haven't gotten to ride it much.

power, the trucks are loose because I set them that way. I'm glad you like the setting, but remember that you can always tighten them up if you want.
Bigkahuna, power bought the Atom off of me. I used it at Wildwood and it worked just fine. It's intended for lighter riders, so it should work well
for your wife. The trucks are easily adjustable, so she can set it up just the way she likes it.

Thanks, good to know. So I'm guessing to loosen the trucks I just back off the nut where the cross arm pivots, right?

Yep, it's the same as adjusting a skateboard.

Cool. My wife is out of town so I'm gonna get this for her while she's gone. Now all I have to do is to decide what new toy I'm going to get myself!
See my post in the "wanted" section!
