Wanted: 2 metre kite
My kite bag is pretty well stocked now for a beginner learning to buggy but I'm thinking I'd like to add a 2 metre kite such as a HQ Beamer or Ozone
Flow, RTF, for the higher wind speeds that seem to be coming around this time of year. My budget is around $100.
Please let me know if you have a 2 metre kite that you'd like to clear out of your kite bag.
thanks,
Erin

I'm not willing to sell mine, but the 2m Ozone Flow is absolutely fantastic!

At that price point, the only thing I could find is the Rhombus Firebee 2M.
Corey (Las Vegas) has one on clearance at his store, here (near the bottom of the page).
Brad in Louisiana also had one he was selling here.
Reviews on the Firebee can be found on racekites.
I believe Dagon had a Flow 2M, but his asking price was $200 IIRC.
Hope that helps.

Sam

You would have still had some issues with that wild wind yesterday.
Fortunately I took Rip's bar away so he can't be putting up that 16m Scorp' in those crazy winds like last week ! :bigok:
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.

Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Indigo_wolf - thanks for that sleuthing, I'm checking into your suggestions. I really appreciate the help you guys offer to newbs like me.

I think the snapshot 1.9 goes for around 130. And the 2.5 goes for a little more. Of course you probably already knew that judging by your avatar
Prism Snapshot 1.2
Peter Lynn Twister 4.1

Jeech, I'm looking for a quad line foil and, as well, I'm thinking the Prism lines may not be strong enough for high wind days.
I'm kind of eyeing up the 2 metre Profioil that Windpower has on sale. Reviews for the Firebee were not so good so I'm not so keen on that 2 metre
kite though its also going for a good price at Windpower.

Just out of curiousity, what would your dream 2 meter be?

At this early stage in my buggy career I'd say a PL Honret, HQ Beamer or Ozone Flow.

At 2M,
a Hornet is ~$199
a PKD Buster III ~$200
a Beamer is ~$225
a Flow is ~$250
I would almost say hold off and get something from your list with a bit more fundraising. It sounds like you are running in a pack (and hopefully
howling on occasion ) that'll lend you something for a high wind days, so you have
some wiggle room to pick and choose.
Would just hate to see you get something now in a flurry of enthusiasm and gusty wind that you might rethink in a few weeks.
If you one of these come up on PKF snag it, but...

Yup, I hear what you're saying and tend to agree especially now that I've done more reading about the various brands at this size.
BTW, do you have the contact info for the fellow that had the Flow for sale for $200?

Surely...
Senility Warning: :embarrased: I misquoted the price. Dagon's asking price was $240 not $200. Apparently grey
hairs short circuit the synapses. :sniff:
The listing was here

Thanks I appreciate that Sam....don't worry I've got some of those grey hair memory gaps as well...counting on kiting to keep that somewhat at bay
though.
cheers,
Erin

you guys know me too well.
i will say that i had to figure out a few things to get the Scorp to fly. Handles and arcs dont go well. but i took 190 / 90 kg lines because the arc
flies off the top more so i had spare 50cm bar to use. when the winds jumped i went to the buggy using a PL / U-turn Butan 2.5m. I put PL stickers
over the U-turn logo. ROFL.
oh ya, airin, you can use the Butan 2.5m if you want. ill leave that with you, its a bit racey but we can tune it a bit for ya.
if not, and you want a PL Hornet 2.0m we can work something out. PM me.
its windy - day 2 but the grey sky is coming back but i think i could get in about 20mins of flying. thx for the call Gerald (buggeyed), wish you
lived closer to have a quicky.

I say talk to Rip' about a Hornet.
I like my 2.5 profoil as a high wind kite. I hated the 1.5 so I have to wonder how the 2 would be ? The Profoil handles aren't worth the shipping
cost.
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.

Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

I have appreciated being able to fly your Profoil, Bladerunner, thanks.
Yup, Rip has saved the day....I'm good to go now.
Again, thanks to all of you for your input on this thread.
cheers,
Erin
