I think I heard that the atmosphere on mars is less than 1% of that on earth. So we would need hundred meter fixed bridle kites and bigger depower kites and hope the added weight of the kite was offset my the 38% gravity compared to earth. Inflatables would be out I guess since it would take 10000 times longer to fill up. 100 times larger kite and only 1% air density.

Edit: I think I missed a zero in there somewhere and we actually need 1000 m kites. ARGH. I'll just stay here I guess. Much shorter trip to just go to UAE and buggy with Sand Yeti.

the atmosphere there is thin, but i dont think its 1% of our atmosphere, but at the same time its really windy over ont he planet, hell one of the windstorms helped clean up the dust build up on one of the rovers and gave it a much higher life time than the hoped for few months.
