Do you ever live vicariously through yourself?

I often find myself looking back through pictures of myself kireboarding at times of no wind, and no time to go fly. I'm curious does anyone else do this? It's like i can just sit there and stare at those pics and imagine the feeling i felt at that exact moment... lol

My wife has decorated our main hall with pictures of me kitesurfing, kitebuggying, bodyboarding, etc. There is even a couple pictures from past Wildwood Buggy Bashes. Sometimes I just wander down the hall looking at the pictures remembering what was going on that day, or how the water felt, or the fun of standing on the beach... :saint:

I live vicariously through the De Dutch. If i could wear these wooden shoes that Ozzy / Ruudje / Arie all day I would. I watch Euro Kite Vids, and thanks to PraireWind for the Dutch Phrase Book gift.

I will be wearing a pair on my trip to Holland this year.

It's the memories I make out on the beach/field that get me through the 8 hrs at the 'cheese plant'. My job is sometimes a little mindless.:bird: I can usually go through the motions all the while thinking about the fun I had "last time".:singing:

Agreed Bob! The memories of the Buggy Bash really fill my head at times along with other trips to the shoreline. My son and I often watch our videos constantly thinking on how we can improve them.

Sometimes you'll find me on Route 380 between DFW and Socorro, NM or Route 5 between Chittenango Falls, NY and Western Mass. I haven't been to either of those places in years, but I remember the temperture gradients between sun and shade at speed, all the backroad/smalltown scents, and the rustle of a windblown bandanna against my neck.

That makes your wife pretty amazing in my book. You wouldn't happen to have another one like that would you:smilegrin:

Personally, I always have my favorite vids bookmarked for quick access when I need a kite fix. I mean,,,,,no one could really expect us to make it all the way to the next kiting weekend without a little kite action even if its just on the screen:smilegrin:

Are we placing bets on who is going to place the first "Classifieds - Wanted" listing on PKF as a result of this? :wow:

Sometimes referred to by SO's as kite porn. There first step is admitting you have a problem... ;-)

And no.... no one believes you can quit anytime you wanted to, so don't go there.

What if I have a problem, realize it, but don't want to do anything about it? I might be entering some sort of remission, I've seen things for sale and actually told myself "nope, don't need one of those". Then Rip put up that 10.8m Reactor II. It's a sickness I tell you.

I'm managing to look at the things people post and realize that I don't have enough money to get them... That's a good first step, right?

Good first step.

Even better if you haven't done any backsliding by checking the Blue Book/trade-in values for SO's, children or pets.

If you have.... well... we'll just keep that to ourselves. ;)
