Flew Guerilla II 18m
As some of you know I just got a Guerilla II 18m. I also purchased seperatly a North 55cm Bar with 27m lines. The kite gets up there but, it doesn't
stay auto zenith too long, falls out of the sky and goes to either side of wind window. The throw seems only like 10in to me. Jolt and I trying to
figure out how to extend the ropes, I know some of you have responded to another thread, but thought I make this one exclusivey for this reason.
Please advise. Thank You in advance.:puzzled:

You should be able to infinitely extend the length of the rope on the chickenloop no? I'd suspect it's ok though, just not enough range to power it up
as it is? If it flies as is then everything must be set right (line lengths are equal etc).
How about the wind? If you're not holding a steady wind you're gonna have issues with the autozenith where the tendency will be to collapse and fall
out of the sky in a lull (from zenith) or to drift to the window's edge ultimately touching down and tip clapping.
Really, if you can't just hold onto it by the front lines without the luffing and drifting I'd look to the wind.

Winds could of been an issue for sure, it was anywhere from 5 - 10mph gusts. Will try again. We are still new to the arcs and still learning

Check the wing tips of the kite as well. Dirt/sand will accumulate in the tips over time and will cause the kite to drift one side or the other.
Clean this out if there is any in there.
That is pretty light winds for the Guerilla, even the 18 meter. 10 should be fine but 5 is very light and would be difficult to keep the kite
hovering in one spot.

There is no dirt in the sides, we just got the kite, and flew it for the first time. I personally think the bar is the problem, if i had more time
that day and wind i woulda played around with the settings. But like Trancein1 said, the winds were on and off, so next time im free with winds ill
have a better time working on it, but lately the winds have been dying out around 1-2pm which is when we get around there.

The kite should fly without a bar so the fact it flies at all makes me think the bar's ok, just not giving you enough throw to really power it up.

As with anything kite related, more is more. It'll work properly in good wind
I put the 10m Vortex up in baby-fart wind cos it was my first time meddling with an arc (didn't want to scare myself ) and it wouldn't auto zenith so I worked it good around the window - enough power
to keep it up but not pull much. Then I got the Phantom and went out in better wind - much easier to launch, auto-zenith etc.
Remember the arcs don't seem to have the parS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-n'ride bottom end like other kites ... this affects the A-Z imo ...!
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

That falling out and to a side bit sounds completely logical with that kite in that wind. Give it more like 8 mph plus or give up.
My #1 complaint with arcs, no matter how big. At about 8 + mph my 18m Guerilla started to fly nice but turn slow!

Park and Ride means your up to speed and kite is up to speed such that you're not having to work the kite (sine) to keep moving. Kite is just parked
near edge of windw at max lift/drag.

Also another thing we noticed was that the brakes lines were completely slacked are they supposed to have slack or need to taught like the power
lines. The lines were all equal i believe, when we looked at them

Slackety slack slack. Mine like a nice curve to the back lines. (Another reason you might want a longer depower rope coming off the chickenloop - the
first inch or two of travel will be absorbing that required slack.)

Keep the back lines very slack. In lighter winds you will need to sheet the bar in to get the kite to turn.
Process is like....sheet in, crank it around hard, sheet back out for speed. (think - fly it like your mad at it)
When the wind is stronger the kite will automatically take up some of the slack in the rear lines and turning will be easier and more responsive. You
will still want to sheet in for faster turns though. The newer designs are much more responsive in turns than the older models.
