ATB truck destroyed!!

Today was one of those amazing days that doesn't happen very often. I met up with a new ATB buddy and we had a blast. It was my third day being able to use my new mbs core 16. As soon as i launch i'm almost ready to go. I hop on my board and get moving across the field really fast. I swing the kite and pull in the bar for the jump. I felt as though i was going lopsided, so I decided to bail off the board. The board dropped about 6 or 7 feet to the ground and I just focused on where i was gonna land. The board landed behind me with the sound of metal jingling around a bunch. I dind't even need to look to know that my truck had been destroyed. I landed and walked back to the board to see the axle and wheels rolling by themselves down the field. The base plate had completely broken in two pieces when i bailed off of the board. Is this supposed to happen when you are only 6 feet up? My buddy and I had a good laugh. I just wish it would've happend at the end of the session instead of the beginning. The replacement piece for the truck is only 10$ from the MBS website. I hope they deliver quickly. I guess it is friday the 13th

Wow sounds like it was a good thing you bailed when you did.

ive dropped my board numberous times and its still in one piece.

totally carnage there dude, maybe you were higher than 7feet. *two thumbs up*

call mbs for a replacement, sounds like its more defective and a warranty issue.

I was imagining a trailer (lorry) full of atbs going up in flames or over a cliff. This isn't nearly as bad. Good luck on the repair though.

If it was a pretty new board, then that definitely sounds like a defective piece. I'd call MBS.

oh ok sorry i missed that part. yeah seem like the aluminum mbs uses can be a little brittle after allot of saltwater use. Im not sure what the deal is but, thats what we sacrifice for lighter weight performance i guess. its worth it IMO

Thanks to PKF, Flyjump and I met up at the park where I have been flying for the last year. Finally!!!

There must have been a hairline crack in the mounting plate. Pieces went flying when it hit the grass. It wasn't like it was asphalt or concrete.
Not that I am superstitious, but I was thinking since it was Friday the 13th I should err on the side of caution. I even checked out my board to see if all the nylon lock nuts were tight and I found a couple loose.

The good thing is Flyjump didn't get hurt and power kiters unite in Springfield Missouri USA!!!:bigok:

The base of the truck is made of some strange nylon polymer blend. Just feels like a hard plastic to me. I think I'll order some all metal trucks after I pay rent. I want to be sure it doesn't happen again. I want to be able to focus on my riding instead of my gear when the wind is up
