kites for light days

Hi everyone, light wind is always a pain for all traction sports, but you might remember the good old C-quad.
All the small sizes are gone but we have a lot (a lot really!) 8.5m C-quads that have been taking up space in our warehouse for a long time now and they need to go.

Obviously shipping them individually would cost too much, but if there's enough interest in these to ship a bunch to the US in one go I'd be happy to make a good price for them.

The 8.5m can (in the right hands) even get you going on the water when the rest is waiting for winds, obviously it's not the most high tech solution but they'll provide a laugh at least.
And we even have some stock left of the tubes for water use.

What I need is someone willing to distribute in the US (looking for dealer here) and enough interest to make shipping cheap.

Good winds,

for you collectors, its a keeper

its still a good buggy engine. this thing screams upwind on 10 to 15m lines due to the single skin. probably why BeaN made a single skin in a higher AR profile.

"The C-Quad has the concept of a traditional foil but without the air-filled double skin. C-Quads have their inflatable ‘cells’ replaced by 4mm fiberglass rods. One long curved spar on the leading edge and several straight vertical spines. This creates a kite with an amazing amount of power per square meter. The very high lift and the power control make it a great kite for buggying, powerkiting or even snowkiting."

PS. can I get one for free being a TR.??... sorry had to ask. hehehe.

Consider me interested in an 8.5. I'm interested for the collector value (for keeping, not selling) and as a possible anti skunk tool to play with. I'm not sure if I"m going to need the 10.8 m Reactor II in California yet but this could be fun to play with on those days when the 8.6m RII won't quite get me rolling.

EDIT: GEEZ, that 8.5 is over 20 feet long!

C-quads are a TON OF FUN.

They fly a bit different than anything else I have tried and I Love them.

Someone once called them " NPW on speed " . That is a great discription. HUGE abilaty to change the AOA with the stiff frame. Fast and lots of power. Just don't crash them, be carefull putting them back in the bag. Most damage happens those 2 ways. It is almost a 2 person job to pack these things.
I don't understand why these aren't more popular still ?

MJ,

I would be willing to receive the shipment and distribute them out from here. I would also be willing to take a couple on myself. The C-Quad is really an awesome kite.

Let me know what will work out for you. I can receive all the U.S. kites into our warehouse and ship out from there which will save you and the people receiving them a ton in shipping.

I read that the spars are massively long - may make shipping too much :(

this kite looks like fun until one crash....then those spars would sink you....I know because I was first into stunt kites. One day it was real windy and the thing did great as a buggy engine until it nose-dove one time and snapped several spars to the point of costing more than the kite to fix....carbon fiber spars are pricey ...too bad too because the thing was way more responsive than anything else.......

I'm counting about 13, I know of a few more, maybe come up to 20 kites.
I'll decide on price coming monday for 25 pieces.

I can try to throw in one or two spare spars per kite (Reply to Art's post because he has a point there).

couple people interested in distributing, thanks for that.
But please note that when I make a real low price there isn't much money to be made on these, none for me either btw.

service like idea to get you US peeps rollin cause it seems no-one has "euro" winds there.

They aren't really inflatable tubes. They are more like pool noodles in a smaller diameter and not the funky colours too. They come in grey only and they sit inside pockets on the c-quad. They help the kite float when crashing into the water.

If marijn doesn't have any I'm already talking with someone that had a few laying around before their shop closed up.

yes - C-quads are great power/speed and upwind ability.
If anyone is interested in putting one on the old quad line bars I have a couple of those kicking around - the kitesurfer version (yellow bar) that I can give away. There may be the Peter Lynn C-Quad bars still available as well?
