After two full months of patiently waiting (not so patient at times). My 2010 6m Pink Ozone Access XT, has finally arrived.:singing: And pink it definitely is!! Won't be able to get it out till the weekend; however, I have enjoyed the past couple hours admiring its beauty. Here are the pics I took of me unpacking it.:wee:

Very nice! recently I've gone for the more interesting but less 'cool' colours too - I got a bright pink mp3 players, a bright orange cell phone

Love the look of that chicken loop too - chunky is funky. Wonder if there's a line and bar set that'll work on the arcs ...?

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Thanks guys!
I'm definitely happy with the color. I think that everyone across town will be able to see this thing when I finally get it out. Now I just need to get the lines all attached and ready to go. First I better finish reading the manual to make sure I got everything understood. WAY more setup than my imp trainer was.

That's really very nice looking. Shame it isn't a standard color. I think it could have given the Flexifoil Punk Series some competition.

Alright, I couldn't just sit by with a Pink Access thread going on and not show you mine. So here are a few pics of my pink 4m Access XC. Although I've got to say that after seeing that pink XT, mine is feeling a little light on the pink. Now THAT is a pink kite. I do wonder how these pink kites came into existence.

Enjoy the new ride. I'm sure you're going to love it.

Might be "light" on the pink, but very nice.

If yours has a history similar to Shaggs', the Pink kites seem to be ones that Ozone earmarks for schools and training facilities.

ATB,
Sam

That 4m XC has a nice combo of pink on it too! The grey really stands out on that one. Mine if you are just glancing at it you can get it mixed up with the black. Otherwise I think that Sam might be right, that these are reserved for training facilities. More the reason to hang on to it IMHO. Yeah we did get those strong winds today. :spin: Unfortunately for me I was at work till dark. I think that it will end up waiting till the weekend till I get it out for a test flight. One question for your guys though. In the manual it talks about the leash being used when riding unhooked only. Is there any reason why it can't be worn while hooked in as well? The only thing that I can see why one wouldn't want to is where it attaches on the cross line for braking; it, might get in the way while trying to spin the bar. I can't wait to get it out though. Even if I have to static fly it for a bit till the snow falls enough to snowboard, it should still be a good time.

There is no reason that the leash can't be used, even if you don't plan to unhook. You just don't need to use the leash in order for the primary safety to work.

I'd say use the leash if there is anything downwind that could harm or be harmed by your kite. Or if you just want the added security that your kite won't get away from you. See the "Synergy no longer perfect" thread to see why you might want a leash.

I haven't used the leash ever. Does that ring pull free of the CL and is it a final safety? Hate to unhook accidentally and have a fully powered foil tugging at me. Wait. No, it'd be fully depowered (according to the trim anyway). The primary safety is amazing so get used to using it and it won't matter if you've leashed or not.

No, if you're clipped to the CL then you're riding suicide and you'd have to hit the safety release on the leash. You need to leash to the brake handle for safety. But then you'll get your leash twisted when you spin the bar.

No leash is not necessary UNLESS you have obstacles downwind and/or don't want to chase your kite. I've almost lost kites that jumped the CL on me. Although I still don't usually use the leash.

Yeah I don't like the idea of hooking to the chicken loop like that myself. I would think that it would only be a good thing on water if you were doing handle passes. Otherwise on land it seems that when you let go, there would still be enough power to possibly toss you around. I may use it when I'm in an area that runs me a chance to lose the kite if I had to release the chicken loop. More or less it seems that it would just get in the way like already pointed out. Sucks that there hasn't been a design where the leash could be attached behind the bar like the suicide setup, and still allow the bar to spin freely.:dunno:
