The details of the elastomers can be found on here WG Elastomers

They are quite difficult to get hold of and quite expensive, the last batch I bought came from the US, but please don't ask me where from, I have no idea, another company I was dealing with imported them for me. The cost of each unit is around £20

Thank you for the comments on the welding WG, I do not consider myself a TIG welding expert, far from it, so it's a confidence boost for me getting a comment like that from you...appreciate that.

There will be a video promo of the buggy within the next few weeks, I will post that on here too when it's done.

I much prefer one off buggies to make, after three of the same buggy I am very bored.

Having said that, I will sell the Superbug 2 soon, I want another Dominator, and I am afraid it will be almost identical to the last two Dominators I made, I am finding it very hard to improve on that buggy, so any ideas within reason I will gladly take on-board and consider.

Just an update on the work front, we have spent the last three weeks clearing out the workshop and scrapping all the steel, the company closes this coming Friday, we have done well to last as long as we have. I have decided, I never want to work in a fabrication factory again, not that I have any choice in the matter, virtually all the structural steel companies within a 40-60 mile radius of where I live have closed or are on its last legs. There are empty building all over the country now and it is going to take a good few years after the recession to fill those up before they the construction industry even begins to think about building new ones.

I hopefully have found some temporary work till Christmas working for Parcel Force delivering and collecting....the wages are what I was on 25 years ago....but it either that or £60 per week job seekers allowance.

Making buggies will be a touch harder for me, without being able to use certain equipment that I used where I worked like the bender for bending the stainless yokes etc, saws, radial drills and things like that, but I have a little stock pile of plates etc, that will keep me going for a while.

Thanks to all you other guys for the ego boosting comments, there is nothing quite like a nice complimentary comment to make you feel good, and you guys have certainly perked me up.

Cheers Carl

Yeah Carl so sorry to hear about the job market. I am also in the steel industry, on the supply side. We have had some close calls, but are still surviving. I wish you the best in getting a great job and having a great future. Best wishes!

Keep up the great work on the buggies!

Fantastic looking Buggy !

Sorry to hear about your workplace closing up.
It would be really surprising if someone with your skills did not find a well paid job, even in these times of recession.

All the best,
