You should definitely look into the GI boards as well. I just purchased one and am very pleased with it. Nothing against the other companies
mentioned, but I haven't had any experience with them, except for MBS. If you plan on doing any jumping, make sure you get a board with a nice pair of
bindings that fit you well. Make sure the bindings have the post (the little metal piece on the binding where it attaches to the board) becuase that
gives you something to turn your feet against when you become airborne. MBS's atom 95 does not have that on the bindings and I ended up selling the
board because it wouldn't stay on my feet when I jumped with it. You shouldn't have to spend £275 on your first board, especially if you buy used.
However, if you think you'll stick with the sport, don't buy a 'beginner' board. Its better to spend a little more money now and have something that
will last rather than wanting to upgrade in a month. Just my two cents.
